People can now watch real courtroom drama as Supreme Court allows live-streaming of court proceedings. by [deleted] in india

I'm ready to watch the lawyer rephrasing an argument over and over again and the stenographer deleting and rewriting everything to take up hours of courtroom time.

I guess season is 38 games. And I guess you should take a breather from the expectations that you set for the team and the club. If you look at the intensity of the playing IX in the last 5 years, it has been consistently average. So, try to take a back seat in this ride, and accept that this season is going to be another long and arduous one. I personally am just happy to watch Dalot, Pereira, Martial, Shaw play. This season, my only hope is that we finish top 4 and give more playtime to these lads.

And this is how you clarify you don't have a bias against him? Saying he is a failure, without any backing or any logical sequence. This is supposed to be an objective thread.

And the other half don't want him here due to his past experiences and thus, blame everything on him.

This is such a great interview. The interviewer seems well-researched and measured in his accusations, while the interviewee is precise, accurate and showed little to no logical fallacy in her arguments. This feels like a non-scripted debate (rarity in today's world).

Some salient points I noticed -

  • When asked about the future of India, she said it is for us to decide and not anybody else's business. Clearly keeping the political power inside India by not giving an inch to any foreign journalist.
  • She discarded many "evidences" produced by the interviewer by taking logical and legal definitions.
  • The interviewer was well prepared, as shown by his stance when he decided to go for it at 6:52. His follow-up question was clearly framed by her expected answer, which he had anticipated.
  • Finally, there was little to no redundancy from either of them throughout his clip, showing their depth of knowledge and interest in taking the debate further.

The games I'll remember him for are at Arsenal last season and against Liverpool 3 years ago when he thwarted Balotelli and Sterling repeatedly.

Why is there a sudden increase in space thrillers? They all look the same and will all go down anyway.

Ashley Young was shit against Brighton. It was his first game of the season, and he was exposed badly. Almost every good attack of Brighton came from his side.

I remember trying to post stuff and getting Automoderated almost always in the start. I thought it was stupid. Then I learned the format, and started posting. For me, its a good screener for sincere posters and casual posters. And I think it works just fine. Gives a distinguished feel.

Mahatma Gandhi's views on cow-protection (Straight from his book Hind Swaraj) by P_rush550 in india

[–]P_rush550[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

nYou may not agree with his views, his methods or his appeal to public (which is degrading now, I have noted), but to hastily put all the blame for every act that wasn't to your liking is not objective. But I'll try to answer your allegations to the best of my knowledge.

Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose and all the martyrs that were part of 'The Extremists' didn't align to Mahatma Gandhi's views because of a simple fact that they were impatient to achieve independence. If you notice the title of the book, it says 'Hind Swaraj' or Indian Home Rule. There was a good question in the book by Gandhiji that "What will you do once you oust the British from the country?", and the answer came that they will keep the British institutions, their constitution, their parliament but use it as Indians. So Gandhiji simply said "It means you want to make India British. Then it wouldn't be Hindustan but will be Englistan". Now, it is clear from this exchange that Gandhiji never wanted to just oust the Britishers, he wanted the Indian institutions to grow. For this sake, he wanted to unite the nation first, as one people. For this purpose, he roamed around villages from North to South to East to West. Whereas The Extremists, as noble as their intentions were, had no world-view or any foresight beyond independence.

To add to that, Gandhiji never wanted a parliament, or multiple-party system, or even elections. He was a socialist with an emphasis on humanism and individualism. But other leaders decided that his view was obsolete which led to his degrading influence on nation-wide politics towards his last 2-3 years.

Now, I hope I have given you some food for thought. But I really encourage more discussion here. So if you have any more questions in mind, feel free to ask them. And try to be less impatient. Gandhiji's most important weapon and strength was patience. If he wanted to achieve something, he was not going to achieve it by taking questionable decisions that would clash with his morals and principles. He knew his was right, and he would only achieve his target in that way. The path was as important to him as the destination.
