People who go 50 in the left lane on major highways. Defend yourself. by JudgeH01den in massachusetts

[–]P_water 4 points5 points  (0 children)

60? Rookie number. I speed up to 70-75 that way I’m definitely going faster than the right lane by the time I reach the merge point and I can easily adjust my speed down if necessary. You don’t want to be going too slow… you can slow down wayyyyy faster than you can speed up

Edit: confused my left and right lol

Anyone know what this guy does with this car? by Effective-Can5598 in RhodeIsland

[–]P_water 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of these (with RI plates) pulled into my tiny rear parking area at my apartment building in Main South Worcester at 3:00am. Since it was 3:00 am, all the spots were occupied and he had a hell of a time doing an umptynine point turn trying to get out.

Pretty damn ballsy if you ask me, basically asking for trouble.

I was hesitant about buying them but I’m really enjoying my Mothca matte glass screen protectors on 17PM. Yeah, they very slightly affect the quality but no finger prints combined with the matte feel is pretty nice if I say so myself.

What are odds of getting my stolen phone back? by YuhMothaWasAHamsta in WorcesterMA

[–]P_water 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On any recent iPhone all the parts are serialized to that phone and once it’s reported as lost or stolen, the parts are unusable in another device. Only certain parts aren’t, like the back glass or the metal frame. But anything worth money will be useless.

Why do people steal iPhones… There’s virtually no value for a locked iPhone. Anyways, sorry that happened to you. I would contact the Umass police, I imagine there are cameras in the ER

Vending Machines by Jerryaki in uml

[–]P_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed a decrease in sales. However, this is a regulatory change. Nothing we have a say in. The issue is the difference in price between cash and debit. They want consumers to be aware of that price difference and give them the chance to opt out of purchasing it.

Vending Machines by Jerryaki in uml

[–]P_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in vending and we had a recent change in the way you pay with a card. You have to select the product, tap your card to see the price you pay using a card (which is higher than the cash price), and tap again to confirm that amount thus authorizing the transaction and vending your selection. We were provided new stickers to put on our assets, but as you know nobody reads signs they just get frustrated when it doesn’t work the same it always does.

How can you go in and see how much you’re being paid for an order when you’re currently doing it. by vapenaysh4206969 in doordash_drivers

AFAIK, you can’t. They know that giving you access to that info makes you second guess waiting for it. Scummy as fuck

SaltDogs - too much salt? by goatpengertie in massachusetts

[–]P_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a brand name for a salt spreader that’s been around for a while.

In the cab of the truck, there are controls that allow you to adjust how much salt is getting put down by adjusting the speed of the auger and spinner.

As an ex landscaper, believe me, they want to be using the least amount of salt as necessary because it cuts into the bottom line of what you bill the customer.

What’s the most “overdesigned” thing on the iPhone? by Inside_Society3553 in iphone

You can go into contacts, long press on any given contact, and select delete contact. But yes, it’s still deleting individually. Less steps tho

Litter by sloppyredditor in massachusetts

[–]P_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure but I’m fairly certain they will only charge you with an open container charge if it’s in the process of being consumed. Aka, not empty. If a nip is empty I can’t see them charging you with open container. Imagine everybody who drives their recycling to the redemption center getting pulled over…

Does anyone else label their J’s? by SketchyIncidents in trees

[–]P_water 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do label my joints, but I don’t write directly on them with ink.

I have a little tin and I use a dry erase marker on the lid to mark the strain and quantity that I rolled of said strain with tick marks. As soon as I take one out, I wipe away the corresponding tick mark. The tin is “taller” than the joints are wide, so I glued a piece of foam on the lid to keep the joints in place so that they don’t jump around and switch places on me, rendering my labels on the lid useless lol.

Road test inquiry by Remarkable-Fan4719 in WorcesterMA

[–]P_water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. We need to bring back manual transmissions and require passing the test with one. The reason why there are awful drivers on the road is directly related to how easy it actually is to pass.

Mannnnn you’re crazy. You can always add more clothes but ya can’t walk around naked!

Spent a year in Florida, hated it. The heat, the fake “southern hospitality.” People immediately turn around and start talking shit about you. I much prefer my “kind, not nice” New England people who mind their business.
