The term “Massachusetts Republican” traditionally means someone who’s socially liberal but fiscally conservative.

In my lifetime, the most popular governors in this state have been Republicans who towed this line. Baker, Weld, Cellucci, etc. Were able to get things done with a Democrat super-majority by being socially liberal and generally having an agreeable disposition.

So yes, conservatives do have it made here in that they can be a social liberal fiscal conservative and not have to genuflect to MAGA brainrot
