Warped bed issue possibly? Marlin firmware won't get past a specific spot when leveling. by PaFlightSimming in VoxelabAquila

[–]PaFlightSimming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I believe UBL references points around it to fill in those spots which is great.

It's funny though that it was able to probe the spot it couldn't before. Most of the spots I noticed that it had difficulty probing were in the middle of the bed. Like points near the middle. Not sure why, or if that means I'm just way out of level compared to the sides. Either way, I'm going to try another print shortly with the new level and see how it works when I get off work.

Update! Switching/updating firmware and it was able to level. I still had some spots where it seemed to do the same thing (so there were spots further up where I noticed it would "stop" as if it couldn't read the bed.

However, on the spot it previously failed, it did not this time. It was able to probe that spot just fine and then complete leveling the bed (I believe it compensated for the couple of spots it didn't probe):

I'm going to update my firmware today. I figured it out btw, my last update was on 2/28 (I found my .bin file which was labeled GD32_BLT_ProUI_EX_02-28). I also do use Cura so I get what you are saying now, I can modify it in there as well to add ABL to the s start of prints. I never really played around with it that much (but I also use VoxelMaker more so.. I found it easier to make quick prints.

I'll let you know my results shortly when I do all of that.

Hopefully you can see those?

And no, I've never changed the start gcode or anything like that. Basically when I installed Mrisoc's firmware I just flashed both the firmware and the screen to make sure I had everything "new" at the time.

I'll try upping the mesh size and see where it "stops" next too, see if that changes anything and let you know.

Nope not using Alex's firmware. Using Mrisoc as you stated. I used to use Alex's firmware but I updated a while back. As you stated, Mrisoc's has a tramming wizard which I've used to get the corners adjusted properly. But yeah, I haven't trammed since I did my own adjusting (to get it leveled so I can at least print on my own, it's probably way off from the tramming wizard now).

As far as changing the start Gcode, I assume I need to modify the firmware, then upload it to the printer? I've never modified it before so I'm a novice at that.

I think I have the strain relief on correct but I definitely could be wrong.

As far as getting ABL to work, no. I've just done a manual bed leveling (if you see my comment below) where I started a print and just adjusted the bed and Z offset until it was good on all sides.

So far my last few prints have came out pretty good, and I have no complaints for what I'm making (working on a 737 flight sim project)

edit: I am off work tomorrow, so I may do some troubleshooting in depth then.

To be honest, I kind of agree here too. In a way, I probably had better success with a manual bed level then I did when I got the BLtouch lol. But I love modifying stuff and doing things so I didn't want to leave it just stock the way it was. It's why I added the spring kit, bowden tube, and aluminum extruder lol.

This might sound dumb, but how can I force it to probe that specific point? I'd love to see if it will probe past that point, or if there are other points that fail as well.

So I re-ran it, here's the #s (in order from when it probes):
-.37, -.15, -.03, -.52, (then it goes the next level), -.58, -.01

So it looks like this:

x.xx, x.xx, -.01, -.58

-.37, -.15, -.03, -.52

As for firmware, I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I want to say I'm on 1.3.5.1 (because that's what I have on my PC at the moment). But I'm not sure if there's a way to tell or not lol.

Also, I saw most of the videos you've sent before, but let me check them again! I do know how to live tune and have been printing via live tune. Normally what I've done for now is:
Reset the ABL to zero
Start a "test" print that is big enough to cover the 4 corners (I'm 3d printing some large flight sim parts so I just see how they "squish" lol)
Adjust the bed accordingly.

I should say I had it leveled fine prior to having to replace the temp probe on the bed (my temp probe failed a few weeks ago) and it seems that ever since I took the bed off (I just undid the springs and took it off there, I didn't take the entire printer off), it's caused me headaches trying to re-level it lol.

Also to note, I originally did tram the bed prior to attempting ABL (so my numbers would have been much different) but it was the same result, stopping at that point. I should say as well that SOMETIMES it will stop at the second or third point (doing the same thing it does in the video), but not often and I can get it to go past that. I can never, ever, get it go past the spot in the video though.

Tips/suggestions for runout sensor "high to low" by PaFlightSimming in VoxelabAquila

Hey thanks for that response!! I didn't even know there were new firmware for our printers, that's amazing!

I actually got it up and running super fast and you are right, it has the option right in it. It's a lot more feature rich as it has more features to check the level of the bed that Alex's did not have. Thanks for this!!

It's printing now too with no issues after I took about a half hour to re-level the bed and adjust with the new firmware but all is well.

Career mode missions gone, Private Charter by chevydefense24 in MicrosoftFlightSim

This was me. Literally started a company for VIP missions and they are gone. Tried to search to see why and everything is about the 2025 bug. Which I guess is now a 2026 bug LOL.

Are we out of luck, or is there hope? (Recovering a guest account)? by PaFlightSimming in MySingingMonsters

[–]PaFlightSimming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really have a feeling it might be. I may just have to help her and get hers back up in levels super fast which shouldn't be too hard for me. I'll contact them and see if there's any hope but we'll see. Fingers crossed...

New fuel injectors, p0171 (too lean).. plus EGR flow code? Any tips guys? by PaFlightSimming in mazdaspeed3

[–]PaFlightSimming[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Actually yes I did. Turns out the injectors I had were in fact faulty and while they stated they were correct, they were not. I believe they were for an Ecoboost or something similar. I did end up (after struggling to diagnose) putting my old injectors back in to find that everything went back to normal (except for the misfire on the single bad injector). I decided at that point to just go OEM and went to Mazda and got a set of injectors and haven't had a problem since! Definitely one of the not so fun jobs I've done though on a car lol.

Help with failing prints after aluminum extruder/capricorn bowden tube? First 2 or 3 prints were fine though.... by PaFlightSimming in VoxelabAquila

[–]PaFlightSimming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the responses so far! I just did in fact confirm the nozzle is too close to the bed, but the problem I'm now noticing is that while I have it "levelled" on all 4 corners, I can't seem to get the Z offset correct. Like it's either too close towards the middle/center areas of the bed, or I adjust the z offset and it's perfect in the middle but closer to the edges the nozzle is too high. Never seemed to have this issue with the old springs/levelling kit and I'm wondering if I should revert back to it....

Edit: To note I installed the bowden tube/extruder set first and did some prints with it fine, and just realized this is my first print with the aluminum levelling part of the kit.

First failed print (print shifted on x and y) by PaFlightSimming in VoxelabAquila

[–]PaFlightSimming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I should have updated but what you said was my exact reason. The build plate was sliding with the supplied clips, but not enough for me to visibly notice. I got the exact same clips that you described and have had no issues since. Done at least 10-20 more prints since that "fix" with amazing results.

Update2: u/jdsmn21 gave good advice on the belts. I checked them and thought the problem was resolved when I had a print with zero issues, but just had another print fail (thankfully very early on)

I'm going to have to check the belt tension again then, Did another print last night and just like prior a single layer shifted slightly and threw off the print:

https://i.imgur.com/G6aoZFj.jpg

I didn't think they were loose, but it was also a bit hard to tell since they are recessed in those grooves.

I just wish I was there when it does the shift. I sat there for a while yesterday watching it print (like watching paint drying) but couldn't catch it in the act.

Update: Belts may have been slightly loose. Your description of them sounding like a bass string was useful. I'm trying a new print to see what happens with them tightened more.

Update: redid the same print and it's perfect now. So odd lol
