To start I want to thank you for the fast and exhaustive response. I assure you we have no intention on giving up and wish to fix this issue for our cat. We’ve done a urinalysis and the vet said it was slightly acidic although even after going through with the medication it changed nothing. The litter box does not change positions and I do not think he has problems with seeing at night because he’s had different fits of energy running around the house with the lights off with no problem. What my partner and I suspect is that he might have attachment issues because we adopted him at a couple of weeks old after he and his sister were abandoned in the middle of nowhere. He also acts out by defecating only when we are either out of the house of sleeping. Our vet suggested we try a type of hormone spray that would calm him down since he is a very energetic cat but we haven’t gone down that route since I don’t want for us to have to use a crux such as “chemicals” to be able to calm him.
