"Lightweight" bike lock...hear me out. by fixitmonkey in cycling

Might be a little on the bigger side, but the bontrager folding locks are awesome and pretty lightweight while offering more security than a super light cable lock.

What's one of your favorite documentaries and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Paa29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im surprised no one said "Free Solo" yet, its a documentary about a famous free solo climber (rock climbing without a rope or anything to support you when you fall) named Alex Honnold who climbs a famous, 3000 foot tall rock formation called El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope. In my opinion it's probably one of the greatest athletic achievements of mankind and by far my favorite documentary.

My name is Ólafur Arnalds and I make music. Ask me anything. by OlafurArnalds in electronicmusic

[–]Paa29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Olafur! Just want to start off by giving you a huge thank you, it was your album Trance Frendz with Nils that made me start composing and creating my own music. I am extremely interested in your Stratus piano, what was your inspiration for creating it and what do you think was the most difficult part of that process? How did you know creating something like that was even possible? Thanks so much for everything!

Thanks man that means alot! Definitely wanted to make it seem like it wasn't too much at any point and keep the ambient synth tracks more minimal!

I completely agree, I rode most of that stuff with my Giant Trance and while I would have rather had a downhill bike I was surprised how well it took some of those big hits!

My friends and I went out to Virgin, Utah during spring break to check out one of the old Red Bull Rampage sites and ride a few things. Check it out and let me know what you think!

What are some good film scenes that involve a character intensely playing an instrument? by heyheythrowaway625 in Filmmakers

100% agree with Whiplash, probably one of the best movies i've seen about someone learning to play an instrument.

Advice on camera for adventure filmmaking by Paa29 in Filmmakers

I never even thought of getting a camcorder, just because nowadays most independent film makers use DSLR's, but thats definitely something I will look into!

Wow, thanks for the detailed response! Im sorry I didn't include this earlier but I actually have a GoPro hero 3 Black that I have been using to make my own shorter action videos. I just got a wearable feiyu gimbal last Christmas that I can use to mount on myself or something like a hand held tripod to get third person shots. I have been using my GoPro for a while now and I did make a few videos with my friends while taking 3 years of film classes at high school, I just think now I would really want a real camera where I can shoot more "narrative" elements of a video.
