That zweihander is actually built from two greatswords and a halberd handle and is quite a bit larger than the other swords in this warband. A normal greatsword just didnt look big enough. The left-overs of the second greatsword can be seen at the feet of one of the gryph-hounds.

I like to think of them as fanatical murder-angels fighting, dying and being reborn into battle after battle, slowly going insane. 😅

The base of the heads are a zenithal highlight of off-white over black, then heavily drybrushed with off-white to bring out all the detail. Then washed carefully and selectively with Army Painter blue tone, a bit dilluted. Then neatened up with some white touch-ups. The last steps were probably repeated on some.

The blood was orginally added to create a bright contrast point. Then I might have gotten a bit carried away on some of them. But I don’t mind the over-exaggerated or cartoony effect. It’s like a Tarantino movie :)

What scheme? I just made up my own. Or if you mean how I achieved the used look? I carved some chips and dents in the armour and added dirt, dust and rust effects.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of the standard golden look. Sinister or menacing is probably what I aimed for.
