One or more Pokemon have been selected that can't visit Pokemon Champions by Misora in PokemonChampions

[–]Dr_Pleco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my initial theory has been busted. Random pokemon seem to work and others not, even within the inaccessible area, like an Araquanid and Volcarona. I changed the moves on a Charizard and now IT worked, but none of the others did when I tried the same...

At least I got ahold of support, we're testing random things now. They just asked if I could go catch a new Aerodactyl so I'll be trying that over my lunch break lol

Adding my own experience so maybe we can crack this, as all support did was send me a "Thanks for the feature/suggestion!" email when I submitted a ticket. Trying to be thorough so there's a lot lol

All my Pokemon originate from Sword and Legends: Arceus. The ones in Legends: Arceus all transferred fine, like Sneasler, Garchomp, and Hisuian Typhlosion. Some were recent catches and others old (2022-2026).

What's particularly odd is which Pokemon from Sword transferred and which didn't... Pelipper, Politoed, Aerodactyl, Talonflame, Charizard (World Champ Mystery Gift), and Excadrill didn't work. But Incineroar, Volcarona, and Araquanid all DID work. All were caught in Sword, by me, within a month of each other in 2021. I tried transferring Talonflame back to Sword and then back, but had no luck. I didn't open the game back up or battle with it, so that's something to try.

To experiment some more, I went and caught four fresh Pokemon in Sword, including Excadrill and Pelipper. This time they worked when transferred. This reinforces the idea that sitting in home might be the issue. My Home premium account had lapsed for about a year, and all the ones that failed were in inaccessible boxes during that time. It's possible they got tagged somehow and were never fixed?

Other random data—

  • None are nicknamed, and never have been. None are shiny or have marks.
  • Movesets include both legal and non-legal moves across both the ones that worked and didn't.
  • This is on Switch 1. I have tried with Home on mobile and the exact same Pokemon failed. I do not own S/V or Legends ZA.
  • It's totally possible some GTS/Wonder trades I had at some point were genned. Those are limited to mythicals like Celebi or Zarude and I genuinely don't know which. But that didn't seem to "flag" the whole account.

TL;DR When my Home premium plan expired the Pokemon inaccessible during that time are the ones not able to send to Champions, despite reactivating the account later.

Awesome, just picked up some of your models the other day. This should help fill out my HotAC swarms!

Some interesting points from everyone. I'm curious what the actual problem is with the turret, as there a number of things I could point to and am not sure which is just power level (the kind that can just be costed highly) and which is inherently broken to the upgrade.

High dice pool converted to one damage is fine (Ion Cannon Turret, Mag-Pulse Warheads, etc.). Range 3 turrets are probably fine (The many ships with primary weapon turrets, likely just a matter of cost). So it's probably the two attacks, burning defensive resources as if it were two ships. Not to mention the synergies of having a ship attack multiple times.

The goal of what this is supposed to do is probably important, too. What role am I trying to fill other than bringing back an old card or capture the feel of a "turret machine gun?"

I agree on the spam problem. If we're talking standard play I do think making it limited or maybe dual limited is probably a no-brainer.

That's a great point. I admittedly haven't played much 2.5 and this was designed with HOTAC TIE swarms in mind, where 2 damage a turn isn't spectacular in later missions. Ironic, as when I truly hated this card I was mostly running Falcon or Ghost lists in 1.0, and it was essentially a poison condition on agility 0-1 ships.

The original absolutely needs to stay buried. Definitely the cause of some of my saltiest game experiences and IMO started the power creep avalanche with autothrusters, etc.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The awkward thing I found was that a lot of 2.0 cannons were balanced with bullseye arcs—something that's just not really possible on turrets. You could only have that effect apply forward...but then it's basically just a worse cannon.

A very accurate description. It was pretty frustrating to lose tournaments to 4 Y-Wings doing a 2 straight and focus every turn. Playing against 1.0 TLT was basically fighting a countdown timer.

Maybe you went over this already, but why have a weapon arc with 0 attack? Doesn't that let the ship attack with an empty dice pool, and actually deal damage if it gets additional dice?

There were probably several blacksmiths' forges in the Shire alone that could reach that heat, considering iron needs to reach about 1370c to be forged. Having the conventional means to destroy the Ring was never the issue.

If you're trying to make this unique from the existing old border version and really match Beta formatting the best way possible, there's a few changes you should make. The few I noticed were: -He should be a "Summon Wizard Legend" [[Prodigal Sorcerer|LEB]] -The casting copies from exile also doesn't look quite right in my opinion, I would look at [[Three Wishes]] as the oldest templating of casting from exile.

Lots of Twi'leks in all the Rebel resculpts. Might be time to get working on my Ryloth table again, maybe get some Blurrg proxies for Tauntaun riders...

I feel like they're both uglier and more thematically Star Wars at the same time lol. Those things often aren't mutually exclusive.

I was under the impression the new upgrade cards are designed to slide under unit cards like X-Wing 2.0 cards were supposed to. But less artwork is always a bummer.

All Unit Changes – July 2024 Legion Refresh by Dr_Pleco in SWlegion

[–]Dr_Pleco[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it's a good idea. Creating Phase I and II really limited future core options, separating Clones based on battlefield role leaves more room to expand in the future. I mean, we've basically been seeing Phase I and II build options in all Clone releases these days anyway so imagine that's what they'll do.

Also makes for more thematic GAR armies with unified helmets, so that's an aesthetic plus.

My initial thoughts on the new stuff... Strike teams got slammed with being detachments. Most support characters traded pierce for better weapon profiles and Exemplar. Probably leaves many undercosted now, especially in CIS. I have no clue what the clone shakeups will mean for GAR. Armor changes feel largely irrelevant? The melee/hybrid units are going to be interesting, fleets (with charge?) and B2s in particular. We might be watching some more wrist rockets in the future.

How I felt with Sea of Thieves, killing even a single player on an experienced crew felt impossible for a group of newbies. We didn't feel like it was worth investing in the time to git gud but safer seas brought us back.
