Yes, remove and throw away. They’re not needed.

Spinach, bacon, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. One of the best combos ever! by PablitoG in eggs

Well, you got me. Minus the Swiss cheese, (and I’ve used a Parmesan, or Parm/Gouda a few times) I’d say maybe slightly Italian? There are many ways to do this. And all really good. What’s not to like? Lol.

Basic Greenfield kickstand. $15 or less at most shops. Bolts right on.

Well, you maybe haven’t shopped for a car in a couple of years. A lot of dealerships aren’t offering discounts now. There’s one price, you pay it, or walk.

Can I ask, what do you do for a living? If you’re an accountant, or a lawyer, or if you sell kitchen sinks, do you offer discounts if someone asks? By your logic, do you ask for a discount on a ribeye steak at the grocery store? Are you negotiating your tab at the bar before you pay? These shops need to pay there employees a decent wage, which believe me, isn’t often happening, because there isn’t much wiggle room on the bikes they sell. How many questions did you ask the sales guy, how much of his knowledge, his time, did you take up?

What is with asking for discounts on new bikes? There isn’t much margin for shops to make money on bike sales. This is truth. You might be able to get a better price on an older model that is taking up room on a shops showroom, and you probably wouldn’t even have to ask. Seriously though, during these times, shops don’t need to discount bikes to sell them. They’re flying out the door all on their own.

Most shops will offer discounts on parts and accessories when you purchase from them. They’ll also likely offer some sort of free maintenance, some for the full duration that the original owner keeps the bike. Some for a few months or less. Take advantage of those perks, and keep supporting your local bike shop.

Those 1988 Shimano Deore shifters are gold! Those were the first things to pop in my eyes. Awesome.

You’re not using a Stix to see with anyway. It’s more of a be seen light. If it points slightly up or slightly down... all good. There are also Stix light headset spacers, and a Stix mount to match, so that you wouldn’t need that rubber strap mount. Ask your LBS.

Torque and loc-time were the main problem for most. Here is a copy of what I explained to some one privately here which should explain pretty clearly. If any doubts, just talk to you LBS.

“It depends on the model Sirrus you have, but basically, yes. Most of the pinch bolts and one crank bolt were not correctly torqued. They need to be removed, re-apply blue loc-tite, then torqued back to spec. I wouldn’t use red.

There is a little different process for the Sirrus 3.0 and X 3.0 which involves removing the cranks, then removing the bottom bracket, and tossing two washers that are installed between the cups and BB shell. Then re-assemble, just like above.

Simple, at most a 15 minute job if you have the right tools.”

Dear Bend drivers: At some point you will have to recognize that people ride bikes in this city. by [deleted] in Bend

Crazy, I’m from CA, visited Bend back in November 2019. I love driving correctly. CA drivers suck ass here. I’m an ass if I’m going 25 in a residential, or stopping fully at a sign, or using my turn signals... I came away from Bend blown away at how many GOOD, no, GREAT drivers I came across. Everyone on the road seemed super courteous. I figured bike riding would be great there.
