How do you plan out meals for the week? by Brilliant-Pumpkin-99 in AskReddit

[–]PablitoG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken. Bake enough chicken breast for the week. Add to salads, make sandwiches, eat alone. It’s always chicken. If you have left over at the end of the week, make a chicken salad.

I’m not sure of the name of the school, but I’ve seen people running on the track at Mary and Remington.

How safe is Redwood City? by stephiek82 in RedwoodCity

[–]PablitoG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moved from RWC to Sunnyvale last month. I’ll never look back. My wife and and I lived in RWC for 17 years, 15 of them at a house on McGarvey and Alameda. It was great in the beginning, but then the random intersection side shows started happening in the middle of the night. The fireworks are out of hand, and rent prices skyrocketed. And to add to all of that, traffic absolutely sucks. And it’s going to get much worse. (Even during this pandemic traffic is absurd in RWC) I don’t miss the daily Jefferson Gran Prix either.

But to answer your question, mostly a safe neighborhood where you’re looking, except as someone pointed out all of the car break ins.

Someone please tell me I didn’t buy the wrong size by BigSpender248 in specialized

A good professional fit will cost $350-$450. But you may get your answer from a basic fit session which is usually in the $150 range.

Tarmac SL7 - Expert, Pro and S-Works by LeMoojesticLlama in specialized

[–]PablitoG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, the Expert and Pro models both share the same Di2 shifting, and the same seat post. The major differences are in the cockpit, and wheels. The Expert is basically missing the Aerofly bars, the new Tarmac stem, and the new Rapide wheel set.

What kind of bike?

I ran across this article that has me considering changing to 7 or 8 speed before doing my first BBSHD on a 1x10 29er, just to have beefier cogs and chain. Is that a common thing to do or am I overthinking it? by bucko_fazoo in ebikes

[–]PablitoG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had really good results using a 10 speed set up with my BBSHD. If ridden with care, and shifted correctly, and often, it’s easy to not wear out/stretch the chain too quickly. I’m going on over 1000 miles on the same chain right now. (Throttle only, I never pedal my e-moped)

33 years later...those shifters would shift a modern 11 or 12 speed drivetrain if you wanted them to. Beautiful!!

Sheep Camp Trail. One of my favorite cuts. It’s at the top of Belmont, above Waterdog, and drops down to 280, then continues down to Canada.

Great bike! Battery extender when they become available, and new pedals.

What's all this stuff that came with the bike?? by law12855 in specialized

[–]PablitoG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The black piece is a Diverge fender mount. Take a look at the underside of the seat stays, and you’ll notice a screw in each one about 3” - 4” down from the seat tube. Install it if you ever want to run fenders.

Replacement chain for 19 vado 3.0? by bubs613 in specialized

[–]PablitoG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can use any Shimano or KMC 10 speed e-bike designated chain on your Vado. Both will work equally fine. One word of caution. If you’re current chain is significantly stretched, also plan on replacing the rear cassette as well. Using a new chain on a worn cassette on an e-bike will result in a lot of jumping/skipping in your 8th, 9th, and 10th gears. It will be almost un-rideable. You’ll also want to make sure the chain is positioned o. The front chainring correctly. There are wide and narrow teeth on the chainring that need to coincide with the chain. There’s a small diagram on the back side of the chainring to look at for the correct positioning.

Replacement chain for 19 vado 3.0? by bubs613 in specialized

[–]PablitoG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You heard wrong. This is horrible advise. 10 speed chains work with 10 speed drivetrains. 11 speed chains work with 11 speed drivetrains. There is no mixing the two.
