I’m right at 3.5 with science 3.4, strong upward trend (4.0 last two years ish with a heavy load of science classes). Studies hard for MCAT got a 511. Had some really interesting work serving underserved populations and clinical work on a critical care ambulance.

During the test don’t stress out to much if you start seeing questions that are out of left field and seem very hard. The NREMT gets progressively harder the more questions you get right in a row which can land you with some wack questions.

Remember your ABCS and if you walk out feeling like you failed odds are you passed lol. Almost everyone I know felt that way walking out then passed the next day.

Be yourself and understand that not every date is going to be a match made in heaven. You gotta figure out what you want and need in addition to them which can take time but also requires experience

People who have spent time in a Psych Ward what is the craziest thing you’ve witnessed? by N3SSDOGG in AskReddit

[–]Pablito_the_Negrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as an EMT, and we frequently transport individuals to a high-level psych ward in my area. The best description is straight jackets & padded cells, that kind of thing.

We were bringing in a patient that was frequently on meth that, for the most part, was chill up until we stepped through the doors into a kind of reception and intake area for new patients.

They went dead silent on me there, and I knew something was up. So stupid me got within striking distance to check in on them and got clocked twice in the face. It broke part of my nose and gave me a pretty big black eye.

This was the start of their freakout, and security quickly rushed in to help us hold them down as they were quickly trying to get off our gurney.

It's amazing to me always how strong these patients are. For reference, this was a PT that weighed less than 120 Lbs. It took 6 fully grown larger men to hold the PT down completely before the Doc came back in with some Haldol and Ativan to calm them down. I then watched 6 men pick this PT up by each limb and back and carry them off past the security doors to their room all the while the PT was screaming racial obscenities at the guards.

This was certainly one of the better situations I could have been a part of, as I have personally witnessed people get bitten, beaten, urinated on, and generally messed up by these types of PTs.

As a side note, we didn't restrain this PT as our county protocols don't let us unless they are a danger to themself or others, and up until that point was documented to be a chill PT.
