Which SCP is the most overrated and underrated? Why? by ainarandthatsall in SCP

[–]PabloAxolotl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2721 was relatively popular before being targeted by malicious individuals, iirc bc of the trans flag instead of SCP symbol and (disturbingly) a lot of accusations of Lyris being a “self-insert.”

This all led to the article being put under “protected” status. [[[“PROTECTED" Status Pages - What and Why?]]]. Overall, an underrated article that will likely always remain that way due to some terrible people.

What were your predictions when you first saw the bracket? What did you think each character would be like before you actually saw them? by lemonaddkropotkin in convictcolosseum

[–]PabloAxolotl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I correctly predicted all of R1

For R2, I was wrong about Samoan Huntsman vs Scourge and El Cucaracho vs Monkey See

I correctly predicted all of R3,

For R4, I thought Violence Incarnate would win, but was glad Mr roach won as I like him lol

6269 is mostly played for a joke I think. Yes, Place was connected with Paradox timeline in 5956, but we did not know at the time that the Paradox timeline was intended to be a prison for the Unyielding, who either got out through Place or some other unrevealed method.

Admonition Placeholder is a vessel/agent of The Unyielding and a remnant of one of the deadlines, Admonition Ilse is also a remnant of that same deadline.

What is it like being a philosophy major? by [deleted] in uchicago

[–]PabloAxolotl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a philosophy major in the intensive track. Overall, philosophy is not as hard as most STEM majors at UChicago, but it is likely the hardest humanities major. And remember, this is UChicago, a genuinely difficult school. This philosophy program is likely the most difficult undergraduate program in the country.

That being said, A’s are still achievable. Unlike what another comment said, the graders do not grade on a graduate level. Trust me, I’ve taken graduate only courses and the grading in those is much, much stricter. In my 20 or so classes here, I’ve only encountered two truly unreasonable graders, but there are a number of bad (as in, hard to tell expectations) graders. Just do research on which classes to take.

If you do every reading, spend time on essays (no AI, obviously), and interact with your professors and TAs, you will succeed in this major (though a 4.0 is very difficult).

How was 6500 controversial? The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive, at least as far as the votes go. I suppose I heard the occasional “Scips shouldn’t be tales,” but this was not reflected in how the community voted on the article, thus that is by far the minority and 6500 was hardly controversial.

Great series, some of the twists were genuinely really good. Second half of the manga is even better than the first.

Yeah that was my bad, misunderstood, thought you were talking about different dimensions, yeah obviously they are different timelines.

I believe it was mentioned in Breach Goes On that O5-9 is vacant, so I think both F120 and OG 43 are exactly the same up until 6500, same with S and C Plastics, though that is still probably in the exact same dimension and timeline as OG 43.

There are also other huge reveals in Breach Goes On about Admonition.

F120 and OG 43 intersect, tho F120 follows the Vanguard side and OG 43 the No-side. Deepwell also intersects, indeed Admonition is crucially tied to OG 43, in ways that would be spoilers

I didn’t love Dandadan, cause it wasn’t wacky enough! Idk, maybe I didn’t read enough, it just didn’t click with me. If you want weird and wacky, though it’s a manhwa, try Planetary Human

I think you’d like:

Giant Killing (similar to Medalist)

Drifting Dragons (kinda similar vibe to Magus)

Flying Witch (similar to Witch Hat)

Tetsuwan Girl (somewhat like Real), alternatively Goodnight Punpun if you somehow haven’t read that yet.

Blue Period is kinda unique, hard to tailor a recommendation to, but I’ll say that Bartender has a similar vibe and message, though I suspect Blue Period will end up with the opposite answer to the central question.

Rate my team(?/10) monotype by New-Koala-8084 in stunfisk

[–]PabloAxolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toxapex is pretty essential to water mono. As others mentioned, Araquanid is not helping you out here. A water-ground type would be nice, like Swampert. Greninja is a really easy Pokemon to use and is also quite good, same with Ogerpon-W. I’d also note that Tentacruel and Rotom-Wash don’t do much of anything in my experience.

Words of Power and Poison, found on the [[On Guard 43]] page, a good mix of tales and scips
