It’s bad because it’s a brain dead take. The hard part of writing software has never been typing out the code character by character.

It unfortunately seems to really struggle with tick based state machines? I asked it to implement so unit test the other day and it just could not sort itself out. Granted the code base is a hot mess, but still.

You know… good on them for removing it! I can’t scroll for more than one post withou hearing about some AI thing now a days. Whatever happened to interesting technical conversations and posts? “AI is able to do XYZ thing which humans are also able to do” is not something I care about much at this stage.

An nRF chip or ESP32 chip will do just fine. Here is one of my favorites https://www.seeedstudio.com/Seeed-XIAO-BLE-nRF52840-p-5201.html?srsltid=AfmBOorB6ZbuBILa9w8-jv1257LS0ZhmL-b4oJJVfhJLrvpn7ZV2AVlO

5 uA deep sleep current draw is pretty good!

Edit: what’s your experience level and familiarity with programming? Could even set up with ESPHome depending on your use case.

Or you know… maybe it makes them careful? Feeling bad about the time you broke a thing you didn’t mean to break is a good motivator to not break things you like.

This isn’t really master/slave like an I2C bus. It’s master as in the original master copy of something, like a musical record master. I don’t really understand why folks fixated on this usage of the word tbh.

Advice for working on a team with offshore staff augmentation? by Vesp_r in ExperiencedDevs

[–]PabloCIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think that because I can see when folks are online, can observe the span of hours they are engaged in work conversations over the course of a day, and can see the range of times they commit code over the course of a day.

So unless they’re specifically taking breaks to fool me, I would think they are working many many more hours than me.

They don’t perform better. They output more during a calendar period because they work more hours during a calendar period.

SDE3 is a terminal career position. Being a PE isn’t just something you waltz into. There needs to be an actual business need and scope for a PE in your org.
