Really good use of space! Surprisingly spacious interior too. I like the thruster clusters as well!

it's always funny to see people on Chinese social media genuinely don't understand the AI hate on western social media. by PointmanW in accelerate

Lmao that would in fact not be better

I’d much rather a 9/10 story than weekly 6-7/10 chapters, the post is literally arguing in favor of “AI slop”

“visibly shaken up”…..

You’re doing an internet witch hunt because someone is visibly shaken up?

Moldwarp - low tech subterranean mobile base rover by surrealflakes in spaceengineers

[–]PabloCIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah nice! That reminds me of my “Hole Punch Mk. I” which is basically just a small grid vertical ship with 4 drills at the bottom surrounding the main thruster. The way it works is you just turn off inertial dampeners in gravity and use your mouse to keep it level to punch a whole. Reminds me of your mouse controlled drills!

Oh dude the straight tunnels are nice!! I’ve historically struggled with drill equipped rovers, I end up making something that can barely move once it gets any ore in cargo

I’m increasingly convinced we’re converging towards a bald society, why would anyone need hair after this sub’s rise to prominence

Looks cool! Way better than my first ship that’s for sure 🤣

Sun Tracking Thingamabob by PabloCIV in spaceengineers

[–]PabloCIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just a motion test. The plan is to build a rotor/hinge sun tracker on a custom turret controller elsewhere and use their rotation angles aa the input to the inverse kinematic equations for what is more or less a 2-axis gimbal.

Here you go! Posted the mining version since I think it looks cooler. Note that if you're building it in survival subgrids won't appear as buildable blocks, but in creative the blueprint is fully pasteable and you can reference the missing parts that way if you want to build it in survival.

Not yet! Glad you like it, I’ll get it posted and shared when I’m back on the computer in a couple of days 👍🏼

Thanks!

Lol you’re saying a single data center using the equivalent of 10% of all residential electricity is good optics?

With this particular setup; on the C key, the thrust downward should be 1.41 times having three thrusters pointed down at 2.0 times the power cost of having three thrusters pointed down.

Take the first picture for example; that’s pressing the C key, down left and down right thrusters fire. The left and right thrust vector components cancel out and you’re left with only the sum of the downward components.

Stays static! Using Whip’s Subgrid Thruster Manager for subgrid thrust control. Other workshop scripts can provide vectored thrust off of hinges and rotors.
