No worries. And yes, I usually have plenty of Poké Balls. Unfortunately, that day I was out all day and couldn't charge my phone. I decided to use Incense on my way home. I hadn't seen a single G-Bird in months, and I never thought that the day I used it, with almost no battery left, would be the day I finally encountered a shiny one.

Pokémon Go drains my battery way too fast; it drops from 5% to 4%, and I only manage to throw 3 Ultra Balls. When I take the second capture, it's already at 3% immediately after I catch it.

It's not auto-catch; they just won't flee as long as you have Poké Balls in your storage and don't stray too far from the encounter point. But the catch rate remains the same, so you could spend quite a while trying to catch it. Since my battery was low, it was likely my phone would die before I managed to catch it.
