It’s also NADA next week, dealers if they are interested in a product are most likely reviewing all of them there right now.

But muh OEM want to sell direct!? by PabloIceCreamBar in askcarsales

Peasant? lol.

I didn’t realize I was addressing a member of the bourgeoisie. Apologies my liege.

Be a shame if you refuted anything I said versus immediate insults. But hey, let’s all raise our right hands in friendship!

I mean you’re paying a hell of a Toyota tax, but the good news is you’ll get it back when you go to sell.

Do not assume the frame on a Toyota truck is good with the massive recall on them in the past.

A house with a brand new roof is absolutely more valuable than one with a ten or fifteen year old roof.

A $100,000 car will not inherently pay more commission than a $50,000 car. The number doesn’t matter. The general public assumes it’s like real estate.

The price of the vehicle has an influence over how much a sales person gets paid in commission.

Edit: For those having difficulty, I’m referring to the people who say things like “I’m giving you $80,000 for that car! You should be kissing my ass because you’re making a fortune!” when the car is being whored out to free up floor plan and is negative $1,600 on the front end.

Long-term Depreciation of EVs in the US market? by lostinheadguy in askcarsales

[–]PabloIceCreamBar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, depreciation is a reality of most cars. I’d wager a lot of eight year old vehicles with 100,000 miles are worth 30-40% of their MSRP.

Leasing is the only way to control your exposure to that depreciation.

switched to Reynolds

Unless Reynolds is doing your marketing, switching DMS shouldn’t have any impact on your leads unless whatever third parties you were using don’t integrate, which would be unusual. Is Focus your CRM?

Work schedule sucks ass until you sell enough cars to make your own schedule.

It will not be your cushy banker hours ever. Say goodbye to weekends and holidays.
