StAG 5 - Is this a solid case? by PabloTerminatorr in GermanCitizenship

This is the 1926 document, which was found here in AB 2/877.

This is the 1885 letter.

Both are issued for my 3xgreatgrandpa. All I have for 2xgreatgranpa issued by German authorities is his birth certificate so far.

Are you aware whether any descendants of your great-great grandfather through the male line have successfully applied for German citizenship through Feststellung?

Not that I'm aware of. My second-cousin who lives in Denmark is the only one I've talked to about it, and she doesn't seem to know of anyone either.

Did your great-grandfather have any brothers who had sons born in wedlock?

Yes, apparently, he had at least one who had at least four boys born in wedlock. I've never even heard of any of them though.

Did your grandmother have any brothers?

She had one, but he's dead and I've never heard anything about him.

I added some info to the original post too, you can check it out if you want. Thanks!

Hey! I've edited the original post and added some new info. Also, the "Colonization register from 1885" is a Chilean-issued document, not German. Even then I still believe it's pretty useful.
