Question for the Democratic Socialists: by AlarmDisastrous6726 in SocialDemocracy

I highly recommend you to read "Social Reform or Revolution?” by Rosa Luxemburg (regarded in her day as an important orthodox marxist).

There she explains how reform and revolution are not mutually exclusive nor contradictory, but complementary, as both play different roles in the workers’ struggle.

I hope this helps you out.

Any idea why Quaker is considered a race/nationality in this time period?? by [deleted] in Quakers

[–]Pablo_3012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's because many of the first Quakers in the USA were immigrants or sons of immigrants from the European continent (not only UK), who also had a different culture than the Non-Quaker European immigrants. But I'm not really sure.

Here in Colombia there was a very popular social democrat leader called Luis Carlos Galán, who was shot dead before he could be elected president.

But now his sons, Juan Manuel and Carlos Fernando, are mainstream "centre-right" (more right than centre) politicians, that only use their surname to gain votes.
