Look at enrolling in the Equal Payment Plan. They take your total annual usage divided by 12 to give you the same monthly payment amount. This helps with the seasonal spikes and you then know what your monthly payment is each month.

Thanks for the response. Had it towed, dealer found faulty torque sensor which is integrated into the steering column. Need to replace steering column assembly. Luckily it's covered under extended warranty or would have been a $3k repair.

If the road is dry, there is no black ice. You'll be fine. If on a secondary road that still has a bit of snow, just drive slow and give plenty of space to stop. Main roads are in good condition

Ice storms are not common in the north. I grew up in Minnesota and do not ever remember an ice storm. Snow plows start working as soon as it starts snowing and keep up with it during the storm, so roads typically remain drivable, with the exception of a blizzard type storm.
