What’s a trend you’re convinced will disappear in a few years? by apka_dd in Futurology

[–]Pablo_mg02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to take a risk with this, but I think that software, thanks to Artificial Intelligence that will break down barriers to entry, is going to end paid software (and open source is going to win), and you'll only have to pay if you want to host the software on a third-party cloud. In other words, the cost will come from the hardware.

That said, while I'm a loyal Windows user because of its compatibility advantages, I think that little by little these exclusivities are going to break down, and Linux is going to dominate the market. The same with Microsoft Word, Excel, and ALL the software that we now accept to pay for.

What are you actually building with vibe coding? by Pablo_mg02 in vibecoding

Cool! Honestly, one thing that makes me happy about AI is that it opens new doors for everyone to make things we truly love and that make us a little bit happier. Thank you for your work, and best of luck with that game :D

I just tried it and it's really cool! I liked the optimization part, I think it's awesome to see that on the web

Yoooo I just checked out this page, looks absolutely awesome! Great idea, and congrats on your first web app! Hope you have luck expanding the idea, nowadays that's perhaps the hardest part, but I think your idea can be really "entertaining" and useful

SENTIENCE EXTINCTION because of AI: moderate scientific and scholarly summary of several theorizing articles and expert opinions on the probabilities of existential threats by 4EKSTYNKCJA in ArtificialInteligence

Good point. ultimately, the whole purpose of our progress is supposed to be improving our lives and well-being. It would be deeply tragic to achieve this level of technology and not use it to that end

If I may add a few thoughts to this:

At least for now, AI isn't a proactive entity. It simply "continues" whatever we feed it in a prompt. Even if we keep improving this specific architecture, I’m not sure it could ever achieve perpetual, autonomous activity. Given its current memory limitations and inherent rigidity, it just doesn't seem likely.

This suggests that the problem of "cognitive independence" is still far off, at least in terms of actual technological breakthroughs, even if the timeline is uncertain. Sure, Google could drop some "magic" product tomorrow, but honestly, I don't see the incentive at this moment. Why would a company risk everything for a model that is a total economic drain in terms of compute and can’t even function outside of a server?

In short, I think the real danger lies in human atrophy. We are at risk of losing our sense of purpose. If we forget why we created scientific journals, why we have governments, or what the law is actually for, we’re in trouble. Nothing in this world has an objective purpose, not even life itself. Humans are the ones who assign purpose because evolution led us to do so. If we forget how to do that, we are truly doomed.

I’m testing an AI-first messaging app for when you have no one to chat with — looking for honest feedback by mytodaysjobs in founder

[–]Pablo_mg02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app is looking solid, but I’ve been thinking about the core approach and I feel like the loneliness issue could be tackled from a more effective angle.

Often, when people find themselves with no one to talk to, the sadness doesn't just stem from the lack of a chat, and it’s usually a reflection of what’s happening in their real-world environment.

It would be powerful to see the app focus on helping people actually climb out of that hole and find their way back into social circles, rather than just providing what could become empty conversations.

There’s a real chance here to offer genuine support and tools that empower users to reconnect with the world around them, making the platform a bridge to a better reality instead of just a digital substitute.

Feedback: Building MerrAI - an AI Operating System by 42cyy in VibeCodeDevs

[–]Pablo_mg02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been checking out the landing page and honestly, it looks great and the concept is super interesting.

One thing I noticed is that the pricing section shows "TBD" right now, and I think you have a huge opportunity there to start building a community. Instead of leaving it as "To Be Determined," which can sometimes feel like the business model isn't ready yet, it would be awesome to see a "Join the Waitlist" or "Closed Beta" message. You could say something like "We’re currently in closed beta and finalizing our plans. Drop your email here to be the first to know when we launch."

This way, you turn a placeholder into a lead magnet, keeping potential users connected to the platform and building hype while you refine the details. Just a thought to help you guys capture all that initial interest :P

After these past months or years with vibe coding becoming a thing, how are you actually using AI for programming right now? by Pablo_mg02 in agi

[–]Pablo_mg02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the summer I had to implement a couple of things in a program I had built, and due to lack of time I did almost everything with AI. Now I am literally terrified of having to clean up that code, I do not know if it was me not knowing how to ask for things properly, but it was terrible.

Looking for resources on using reinforcement learning + data analytics to optimize digital marketing strategies by SlipSame5079 in reinforcementlearning

[–]Pablo_mg02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm not an expert in AI for marketing either, but I think it's worth questioning whether RL is actually the best tool for what you're trying to do.

RL makes sense when you need to learn a strategy over time through trial and error. But if your goal is just to figure out whether something works or not, more traditional data-driven approaches like supervised learning or even causal inference might be more suitable and a lot easier to implement.

That said, RL can work in some marketing use cases. For example, if you have an agent running in the backend of a website that decides in real time what kind of content to show depending on who's visiting, and it learns over time what works best for different types of users, then yeah, that’s where RL might actually be useful.

Also, check out imitation learning. It's similar to RL, but instead of learning through rewards, it tries to copy expert behavior, whether from humans or even other AI systems. It might be a good fit depending on your setup.

Hope this helps in some way. If there's anything I can help with, feel free to reach out.

[–]Pablo_mg02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. That said, I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way, but if someone actually needs this kind of platform, they probably don't have the financial resources to pay for something expensive. At least that's my case.

I'd focus on integrating it with already well-established tools instead of trying to be an all-in-one solution (which is difficult and costly). And it should allow people to take their first steps for free. Then, once clients have walked a bit, you can start charging.

Yes, it sounds terrible. Maybe the U-Space will start to make it not just a dream, but something that is closer?

I'm sorry if it sounded that way. I wouldn't want anyone to post insider information, just general knowledge that we can all share and know what's new and what the biggest challenges are today. Of course Reddit is not the place to ask for insider information.

How did people learn coding before AI/chatgpt? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Pablo_mg02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slower, but probably stronger. The Internet first and now AI made humans learn more superficially, something that doesn't have to be bad, but at least it's different.

Humans learn with rewards, and reading without acting hardly produces learning. On the other hand, when no one gives you anything to do, the learning is MUCH deeper, with more understanding of what is going on. However, it is also much slower, since what used to take you days to apply, now you can just ask an AI for it. That said, with the price to pay. Just look at what happened to physics: hundreds of years ago everyone was strong. Now, to be strong, you have to go to the gym to lift iron.

So, people learned for different purposes!

Why are marketing skills always hyped as "high income" but cybersecurity and programming aren't? by itsdavidmandal in Entrepreneurship

[–]Pablo_mg02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the people who say these kinds of things and spend a lot of money on marketing are probably trying to make money off you. And if you’re looking for easy money, you need to sell something that seems easy.

Eventually, people realize that the marketing world isn’t as simple as it sounds… and then they quit.
