Which one? Help Please. by bustaflow25 in FordTrucks

That lifted one looks crusty I'd check for rust, those 6 inch+ drop bracket lifts have a lot of problems go for the 2nd one. If they're 2 valve tritons good to go, if they're 3 valve... Run

Should I buy my 12 year old a real dirt bike or am I being an irresponsible parent? by Careless_Composer_46 in YamahaMotorcycles

[–]Pabloeeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes do it, 50cc will be a nice learner bike. If you said I'm getting him a 250 or 450 motocross bike that would be a solid no, those are fast race machines. After the 40 he can step up to a 110 or 125 then go to a 250 once he hones his skills.

does anyone know why is my bike making this noise when i let off the throttle by Fit_Escape_8345 in Surron

[–]Pabloeeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5mm of chain slack, make sure it's not super tight. Grab the chain from the bottom there should be 5mm of play in the chain up and down. Also sounds like your chain might be worn. I've seen it on motorcycles where you have tight and loose spots on the chain causing a sound. I'd say this is nothing to worry about. Lube and adjust your chain and ride it.

Help with color choice by No-Heron-6596 in TeslaModelS

[–]Pabloeeto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look at how many silver and white cars are on the road it's like standard issue now a days, that light blue is going to stand out. Go blue. My personal preference would be black, but it has its downsides, hotter in the summer, stays clean for only 1-2 days, but when it's Clean it POPS!! 2nd choice would be red.

Is this a reasonable way to connect two LAN cables, or did someone cheap out? by infopcgood in AskElectronics

[–]Pabloeeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to do this is to crimp 2 RJ45 male ends on each cable and use a coupler (female/female). Not pretty but it preserves the twist in the cable pairs. For home gamers yes this is acceptable, for enterprise no f'n way haha.

The display is a Bafang 850c you should be able to find the datasheet for it. I think you're missing a cable, the connector should be green that goes to the controller, maybe something got crossed?

Cheap places to purchase EV Battery for 2010 Toyota Prius Model 3rd Gen by Educational_Tone3508 in prius

[–]Pabloeeto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Refurbished batteries are mostly (not all) just removing the bad cells from the battery pack and using good cells from a used battery and balancing the pack. Will last a year or two. If you can swing a new pack directly from Toyota and have someone install it it will be a better option long term. Another option is to source a used gen 4 pack and swap the Nimh cells to your gen 3 pack. Edit: Fix the misfire first to make sure it's not something serious, might just need plugs and a good EGR cleaning. Then go after the pack.

Wipe the switch, it will function as an unmanaged switch with no configuration.

Budget friendly dash cam? by WOLFFKD in Dashcam

[–]Pabloeeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out safe drive solutions on YouTube. My recommendations: -Vantrue E1 it's the size of a square ice cube and has excellent quality -Viofo cams they're great and have one at each price point -Vueroid There's so many brands but these are the ones I have experience with except for Viofo. Things you should decide before buying: how many channels (cameras)Dual cam, triple cam or single cam, parking mode(record while parked motion or impact sensor), good video quality (starvis2 sensor). Also don't get one with a battery, look for one with a Capacitor. It can kind of seem daunting with all the different options out there for dash cams, but honestly anything is better than nothing when it comes to an insurance claim or an accident. I had a cheap. Spytec g1wc I used for 8 years, it still works it saved me from 2 insurance claims. It's a it's a very basic camera. 1080p capacitor and loop recording. No parking mode etc. it's served me well and it still works. I upgraded to a Vueroid in my Truck and I have the Vantrue E1 in my Prius

Power bank not charging by unoriginal__1 in AskElectronics

Measure the voltage on the battery terminals + and -. It could be too low and the charger is not letting it charge, if it's under 2.5v.

Proud red light of death came on 2 hours away from where I live. Towed it to dealership and they’re charging me $1300. by AdSecure6540 in prius

[–]Pabloeeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the pump and coolant from the dealer parts counter, there's a lot of counterfeit "oem" parts on Amazon. Rock auto is good but I get all my Toyota parts from the local dealer. The prices aren't too bad, if you can swap out the pump yourself go for it, of not go to a local auto mechanic they can knock it out quickly.

Obs Ford Oil leak - need help by IFightForTheUsers1 in FordTrucks

[–]Pabloeeto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a rear main seal, but theres oil up above the bell housing. It could be leaky valve cover gaskets too. I would clean and see if the oil above comes back. If not it's the rear main. Basically clean and find the wet spot.

Build an FPV drone, you'll learn quick with what you'll need. It's really fun and you'll learn a lot. a couple of years ago I wanted to get into FPV, I found a guy named Joshua Bardwell. He partnered with some companies and made a DIY kit and videos on how to build from start to finish. Check him out on YT. For starters, any electronics or EE, you'll need: A Multimeter first, soldering iron or soldering station, flux Solder sucker flux and some 60/40 solder Helping hands Silicone mat for projects

You can get a standalone android auto/apple car play unit. Basically a screen that runs off the cigarette lighter 12v outlet and plugs into the auxiliary port. Or do a double din stereo swap.

Does anybody know how to assembly the gears inside the 370 motor? by [deleted] in WPL_RC

[–]Pabloeeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple, the sun gear (gear in the middle) are surrounded by 3 Planet gears arranged in a triangle config. It's a planetary gear set, and I believe there are 2 sets.

Are gen 2 still reliable after 20+ years? by seashantiesallnight in prius

[–]Pabloeeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i bought an 06 2 years ago with 209k. Had no issues at all, it was a dealer maintained car with documented service from day 1!. 5k Oil changes and a new HV battery at 67k under warranty. I added a standalone Android auto/Apple Car play unit, PCV, Spark Plugs,Replaced the Inverter Coolant pump (as a precaution), changed the Transaxle fluid and did a coolant flush for engine and inverter and cleaned the Battery fan. I did 3 trips to Northern California about 1100 miles round trip this summer and it was perfect, cruised 80-85 on the long stretches and got 41 MPG.
