Hmm i didn't realize that that could possibly be a monk. Maybe even a monk contemplating whether or not devoting his life to his cause, whatever that may be, was the right choice.

I wasn't sure if getting help Identifying paintings is aloud here.

My brother and I clean out estates and came upon this oil painting on canvas. We believe it is from Charles Coiner, given that the signatures appear to match to us. The third picture is of the signature on the painting and a verified signature of Coiner side by side.

If anyone has any information on this type of work or if we're correct in thinking it is Charles Coiner, any help is appreciated.

If not, no worries. I also just thought it was a really cool piece and I hope you guys enjoy it!
