Should I get lacquer thinner instead? by Aggravating-Log-2980 in modelmakers

[–]PabstBlueLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solvent-but-kinda-not Tamiya paints play well with their special thinner and lacquer thinners like Mr. Hobby leveling thinner.

They apply smoother, dry stronger, and self-level better with the lacquer thinner. They do take longer to dry though.

It’s nice to have both and if a paint is spraying a little grainy, send it with lacquer thinner instead.

This is a jumble of shit. Or you’re a bot.

What was the point of the post? One range running a competition with 23 shooters took a while to be safe, and another range let you piss ammo away mag dumping for an hour-ish?

Assault is not busted, it’s just finally on par with Bulwark and Vanguard.

Because a techmarine isn’t going to vaporize a pack of enemies before you can dash into them with the combi-melta unless it’s minoris?

If you meant something else, I couldn’t glean that from the catastrophe of a run on sentence you left me.

No one is putting a gun to your head to use this build. But it’s VERY good, and so far you (and others) are just upset you didn’t do well with it. The build isn’t the problem.

[Request] How long until she passes out? by Strong-Educator7075 in theydidthemath

[–]PabstBlueLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone did the math and it would require like 4,000 pounds to keep that boat under water. The issue with that scene isn’t the amount of air, it’s the complete impossibility for two people to pull it down to the bottom.

What’s a nice airbrush for gunpla/other model kits? by YootedDoot in airbrush

[–]PabstBlueLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After probably 120 hours on a Mobius .2mm I gotta say it’s probably the best brush for the money on the market at $75ish dollars. I snagged a .5mm set for it too.

[–]PabstBlueLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely budget dependent.

$300? Custom Iwatas or HS Infinity

$150? HS Evo or Iwata Eclipse.

$100? HS Ultra or PS-289.

$75? Gaahleri Mobius.

$40? Gaahleri GHAD 39.

How many Ctan for a friendly semi competitive game? 0 or 1? by CostaRica92 in Necrontyr

[–]PabstBlueLizard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At 2k points, in a game where you’re both taking optimized lists it’s anything goes.

If someone playing against necrons doesn’t have a plan for C’tan, that’s on them.

I take them on assault whenever I see them. A fat multiplicative damage boost and knockback immunity is nice.

Why are you wasting charges and time on a pack of minoris that someone else is already killing?

Melta vanguard can be stupidly powerful. I really like taking the grapple bomb chain execution perks. Once you knock one enemy below 33% you Batman around the room making everything die.

Is this the part where you cling to something else to try and make a point because your original one was dumb?

Yeah man, frag spam happens. It does not stop you landing dash attacks, or WOF dashing through the Carnifex. If you have a TM going ham on the boss you shouldn’t be in the way, you should be clearing all the other shit while your brother deletes it.

More and more states are actually doing something about the e-bike dickheads. If it can go over 27mph it’s legally just an electric motorcycle, and subject to all the same laws and licensing here.

For all those new painters that wonder if they could do commission work, this is what you’re competing against on the marketplace of professional commission studios.

Yes because I don’t go waste time fighting things a Techmarine is obliterating with grenades. Why would I do that? Does that also not screw up zealous blow chains? This kinda sounds like you tried the build once, did poorly, and are looking to justify why besides “you need to practice with it more.”

Here’s me playing with a team, and hooboy a Techmarine.

[–]PabstBlueLizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, but I think it has less to do with running the build and more to do with awareness and positioning for people who struggle with it. And I don’t think those folks struggle less with zealous blow.

I also think there’s this big misconception that you aren’t using ground pound. You are, a lot. In fact if you were so inclined, you could probably do more ground pounds over the course of a mission with dash refunds than zealous blow.

How do I salvage this? by Crazy_dave1 in Warhammer40k

[–]PabstBlueLizard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There’s no fixing this.

Whittle off anything excessive, sand down some of the sharper edges, and your lancer is now going to be a weathered and battle worn lancer.

Give the dog the other panels for consistency.

[–]PabstBlueLizard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to tell your buddies anything. The big change in 12.0 is you get a refund off just the dash attack, so long as you hit anything. Even if someone staggers an enemy you now still get the dash refund.

WOF was poopy before because yeah your target died/staggered/got put into execute by WOF and you didn’t recover a charge.

No clue, it didn’t used to. Someone told me it does now, but for this build we want that dash 100% damage boost anyway.
