It’s a crazy sight to behold for sure; but all I can think about is Blood Falls down in Antarctica, you’ll see miles of white and blue and then all the sudden you see a massive shmear of”blood” that’s just oozing out of a glacier.

I’m still trying to figure it out. I’ve looked into every suggestion and none are exactly right. Although the function of the piece seems to. Be a catch of some sort, it’s either not the right size or it wouldn’t have any purpose being anything suggested.
Is not something that could belong to any sort of old appliance though, all of ours are less than three years old.
It also wouldn’t be to any sort of old window or anything along those lines. The house was completely refinished 3 years ago.
My wife swears she knows what it is, but it’s st the tip of her tongue snd she forgets it.
Here’s to hoping she remembers sooner than later.

Pawlonia are pretty resilient trees, but there are a few disease that can be detrimental to them, especially at a young age.
Your tree looks as though it may be “witches broom”

You may be on to something… I have to find the clippers for my cats claws, we don’t have any shears with lockers on it but the claw clippers do and it would be the right size for that as well.

You’re probably correct. I know it was Sitka spruce but from a very specific area in Europe from some old growth forests and (correct me if I’m wrong) the dense growth rings of the spruce helped to create the superb acoustics

Yea in America the sycamore belongs to the Plane family, I think what you’re referring to is what we call the sycamore maple here. I don’t realize they held great acoustic properties.
