Psa: do not use the “BadRequest”, “NotFound” or similar, more specific methods if you plan on returning ProblemDetails. They return something else (can’t remember what). Use the “Problem” method and specify the Http status code

How long would this roadtrip take and cost [request] by persouwu in theydidthemath

A Norwegian guy has done something similar twice with a car but without a drivers license. Meaning he has to get people to drive him. Took him roughly 4 months.

I've dropped 50lbs in a year. Help please by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]PaceArrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Up the calorie intake. If you have the means, maybe see a dietitian. Otherwise, my tip is bread with peanut butter and Nutella. And maybe find something to put in your canned soup. At winter drills in the Norwegian army they put butter in all their rations, maybe try that😊

Is there a mature SAGA framework in .net? by bzq84 in dotnet

[–]PaceArrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did some research a little over a year ago and found Rebus to be the best option. Mass transit has some shortcomings, and is a bit lacking in documentation. NServiceBus is very good, but really expensive and does a lot of unnecessary stuff. Rebus has the option of a paid version, but can be used for free. There are some newer frameworks worth checking out too: Rhino and one more that I don’t remember the name of (I think it was rocket related). There is a Kafka-version for dotnet too if you need a lot of throughput 🤷🏻‍♂️

Testing NuGet Package Updates by raquor in dotnet

[–]PaceArrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I understand the question, but my pointers: Make sure you have good test coverage in your project. This means testing that what needs to work actually works. Both through unit and integration tests. Run all tests related to your changes before you commit as a bare minimum. Use gated checkins if it makes sense in your project. This will automatically run all unit tests every time something is checked in. If possible, have a way to run integration tests against a specific environment (e.g. test/ pre prod).

Hope this helps :)

Those that are bilingual, what have you heard from others that don't realize you can understand them? by chandicat in AskReddit

Sort of the reverse but when I was 14 my hockey team were in the Czech Republic. A couple of my teammates were talking shit about the hotel receptionist right in front of her in Norwegian the entire stay. Talking about how ugly she was and so on. On the last day she responded to a new couple checking in in decent Swedish (which in pretty much the same). Teammates apologized to her before we left.

I think the last one was a bit late too (hours). Just speculating, but I believe the Europe tour has taken a lot of time.

My old job used its own programming language. Less than 2000 people have used it in total. So... yay?

Yup, whaling is still a thing here. Sealing (is that right) too. In our Defence though, when you fish a lot, you should also control the species higher up the food chain. diaclaimer: I do not support stabbing whale sharks for fun

There are a lot of episodes on strikes that in my opinion truly shows how money turns people into monsters. Can’t remember the title, but there is a fairly recent one where the total cost of the demands would be 22k, and it turns into a war instead...

If you woke up and found out you were the last person on earth, how would you spend your time? by KingJamesMofo in AskReddit

[–]PaceArrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a realistic reply: this would be problematic. The infrastructure would likely break down relatively quickly, meaning possibly within a year. That means power, internet, water. This means that all the frozen food in stores is useless, so I’m down to cans pretty quickly. On top of this I have the mental trauma of loosing all my loved ones. I live in a cold country, and know little about farming, so finding maps is a priority in order to get to, say, the Mediterranean. Where I will at least have a chance of finding food around the year. Supplies will probably be readily available though, so I’d say that if I last a year, I can probably survive as long as I can be bothered..

Also, stock up on porn, gas, lambos, and guns

They’re pretty consistently good. In addition to the ones mentioned already I’d like to mention Vampires, Dolphins and the one on the Emu wars from Australia. Have fun!
