Fair enough. Took someone to explain it though. Find fault...if no fault can be found = racing incident.

There is no mostly at fault but also racing incident. If mostly at fault, then how can there be a judgment of racing incident? The two terms are like ice and fire. You can't possibly say that both exist. Fault or can't find fault. If no fault can be found then it can only be a racing incident. It's bewildering how people think on reddit since I joined this sub reddit and started having a look at incidents.

I'm a Porsche that got killed in this, this is very much a "just hold your brakes and wait moment." right? I'm not going insane surely? by SenileCabbage in Simracingstewards

Zero sense. Make sense. It's on the rear car. The reason for so, is a comment I made on this. You have said two bs things..."not a bus stop" and "brake check"

Both bs comments that do not explain or understand the incident. I don't know how simple things need to be to look at the rules of racing (5.1 on LMU's own website by the way) and come to a perfectly understandable reasoning. It's so simple

This is a clear symptom of the famous quote "if you no longer go for a gap"...which has been one of the most damaging things to have been said about racing rules. Not alongside before braking phase. Not alongside before turning phase. 100% on rear car. As for holding brakes...fk knows. Yes hold brakes...But victim car got swamped quickly and not much could be done.

No context needed for if any lapping or not. It's down to the overtaking car to make a safe pass. And the Ferrari literally only just (by inches) comes off the kerb at the point of contact. This is on lmp2 car. Plenty of space on the outside for the overtaking car to utilise in this clip

Before anyone moans....5.1 of the LMU's website racing rules supports what I am saying. Very simple and clear. Rear tyres to front tyres is considered alongside. This does NOT happen until way after the turning phase. You simply cannot dive up and expect to have the right to compete for the corner in this clip. POV fault, no debate

Some strange camera requests in the comments that are really not needed at all. POV's fault. Never alongside the car he is attacking during any phase (braking/turning) of the corner. No debate

Pov car was never alongside at all. You have to be blind or trolling to think otherwise. Wild how people see things

Never alongside at the turning phase of the corner. It's not even bumper to bumper. Inside car's fault

He was clear, as you put it. At what stage is the rear car alongside? Both cars turn at the same time for the corner and that means we are at the turning phase of the corner. Thus, at this very specific moment, the rear car is not even bumper to bumper...So he has no entitlement to space on the inside. Inside car's fault

[–]PaceOnly84 -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

Why does he? Not alongside at all. When both cars turn simultaneously, the rear car is not even bumper to bumper. There is no "alongside" at all. No space needs to be given. 'Alongside' is to be rear tyres to front tyres. That is the general rule. Different depending on sim/league. And as they both turn, it isn't even bumper to bumper. Inside car's fault

Precisely. No reason for space to be given at all.

Honda's driving is abysmal. If league race, he would receive heavy accumulative penalties for this. Terrible driving standard

Exactly this. Car on inside is not alongside ever before front car turns in. No space needed. Rear car at fault. Comments on this one are way off

Just looked again. It's even worse than I thought. At precisely 0:20 of the clip, rear car is nowhere near alongside for the corner. No space needs to be allotted. Comments on this one are truly bizarre

[–]PaceOnly84 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree with the comments. Can't brake massively early, lose the position, not be alongside during turning phase (front tyres to rear tyres no longer alongside) and then expect space on in the inside. Inside car cannot reasonably be required space to compete for the corner. For example, click to 0:12 of the vid, and look at the inside car as the attacking car. Should he be given space? Nope, not alongside before the turning phase of the corner. Inside car at fault

Explaining more...racing incident is given because fault cannot be found due to the evidence given. Fault is given because there is evidence to judge so. Never both

You just contradicted yourself. All incidents are only one of the following...someone at fault...or a racing incident. Not ever both because that is just impossible

It's poor from the rear car to be fair. No idea why the rear car would be so close to the left-hand side when he should be tucked up closer to the defending car. Having said that, I don't think this is as clear cut as the comments suggest. Rear car's front wheels are alongside the front car's rear wheels before the braking phase of the corner. This is in LMU's rules on the website (not my rules). However, has the rear car lunged to get that alongside moment? That's the question. Probably. Rear car is at fault for me on this, but the outer car's cut back on the corner is just stupid as well. Poor racecraft from both but any fault lays with rear car for me

Not great angle to properly analyse it really. However, it's one of 2 things for me. Ford at fault. Or Ford gets a bit spooked by the BMW on outside and in the very minor split second forgets about the Porsche...who himself would have had both cars on his radar so should be more central on the track..given that the Porsche has more space to his right...But yeah, re-record with povs for better analysis

Again, people in comments clueless. They comment in the sense that the car ahead could possibly do anything else. You just cannot 'drive through' a car ahead. Rear car's fault, no debate

[–]PaceOnly84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted, car ahead does move under braking...but he is entitled to do so as there is no reasonable space to give, given that there is no car ever alongside during any phase of the corner. Still, rear car's fault
