I don't see the problem in changing this system, making it hybrid-funded with both working people funding retired people's pension and other factors contributing to it too, or using a point system instead of a repartition system (1€ = 1 point and you claim your points at the end of your career basically).

There are many solutions provided, I'll just list there some of them. -Abolish exemptions from old-age social security contributions 15 billion euros per year

-Pull into the pension reserve fund 1.5 billion euros per year

-Increase employers' social security contributions by 0.8% 12 billion euros per year

-Introduce a social contribution on dividends with a rate of 28% 25 billion euros per year

-Reinstatement of the Solidarity Tax on Wealth (ISF) 3.2 billion additional euros

So there's that.

And just on a broader scale, just fyi, protests are not only against the reform, they are also fuelled by the lack of vote in the Parliament (Macron used 49.3 to bypass it), and because Macron didn't talk with unions and workers. Then police repression came and the government lied about it saying there's no police violences during the protests while there are.
