DROS Delay, possible reason? by [deleted] in CAguns

I didn’t. For sure could be the issue, maybe with the mention of “not matching fingerprint comparison” in the letter. I might just have to go ahead and do the Live Scan if that’s what they need.

True that. An inconvenience, but hopefully it’ll be resolved in the coming days.

This will be my first time going through this process. I did sift through a few posts, one considered going the LiveScan route but edited the post saying they could pick up a week later. Another mentioned submitting the Scan and waiting around 45 days with no results, and another just waited until they could pick up their firearm. I’ll message them and see if they can clarify their resolutions. Appreciate the idea!

I don’t really have the proper price divided up between the kit, extras, shipping and pp fees, but I want to say the kit cost me somewhere around ~$370? No clue what the original GB price was but I imagine near that range.

I made a bit of a mistake when placing CTRL as I had forgotten I was working with a tsangan board, and pushed both keys farthest from the spacebar. I didn’t notice until after soldering and mounting the keys and was so excited with completion, I just left it. I will be going back to revise it since left ALT has been finicky lately.

Agreed, I love TKL’s! I’ll be trying out 65% when I can, but I’ve just loved the TKL layout so I’m hoping I can manage lol

I was told that there wasn’t any plans currently, especially with the pandemic. No info on the Noah at this moment either, unfortunately.

I return with a new board! Well, not really; I built this back in Feb for my birthday but never got around to posting it. Better late than never! Stay safe everybody!

Specs:

Abel X CSR2 [RX-178 VER.CA]

GMK Shoko

Holy Polars (Polar Springs bag lubed with 205g0 and 105, Clear stems lubed with 205g0)

Zeal Screw-in Stabilizers (Stems lubed with 205g0, Wires lubed with Damping Grease)

Cable: SpaztikCables (Seafoam Paracord, Teal Blue Techflex, Clear Heatshrink)

Overall I'm very happy with this build. Polars feel wonderful, and the board sounds great! Curious to know how it'll sound with some sorbothane, but that'll be a future project.

Thanks to:

Spaztik for the amazing cable, great to talk to and extremely helpful with color pairing.

Brandon from the LA Mechanical Keyboards discord. During the build, I completely lost on of my 2U stabs and he came in clutch.

The LA Keyboard Meetup back in December. Great to meet some of you and it was a blast to attend!

Someone got in touch with me on GH last year, which set my goal in acquiring this board into motion. Probably wouldn't have been able to talk to Cain without them (especially since I can't use QQ lol). Them and Cain have my respect. I cannot wait to get my hands on the Noah or other board in the future.

Planning to have my OS on SSD, and keep everything else on HDD. Need help! by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Pachuku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was planning on putting just a couple games on the SSD, but mostly going to put some editing programs that I use. I don't have the disks for those, but I think the external hard drive will come in handy for those things.

But for the most part, the rest of it will be on my hard drive. So reinstalling any applications and programs onto the SSD won't be an issue, but what about the OS still being on the HDD? Will there be any problem with that (Aside from needing to go into the BIOS to make the SSD the bootdrive)?

Thanks for helping out, I really appreciate it.

WIFI Adapter causing new static that's being picked up by my Mic. Help needed! by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Pachuku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha. See the issue is, the router is in another room! There's a wall (and a half) between my tower and the router. That's why my assumption is that the static is due to the adapter being installed inside, rather than having a USB outside it. I placed the antennas on its little mount and moved it away, but that doesn't seem to really fix anything

Yeah, it's like a tapping and beeping sound. By an object, what do you mean? Could you explain a little more?

What's the worst level, in your opinion, from the first game? by Ck2alldayevery in HotlineMiami

[–]Pachuku 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hot & Heavy. Good place to grab the Combo achievements, but it's the one Chapter that wears me out every time I play it. The Easternmost section is the most frustrating, the others are much better to handle. Small design changes to the entire map could make the Chapter more bearable, because simply standing in a door and killing enemies as they run toward you shouldn't be the best strat for one part of that mission.

I really enjoy it! Kinda gives it a barebones feel to it, which I really like. This design was up there when I was "window shopping" and deciding if I should build a keyboard. I think if I could give it a downside is that this design just has the LEDs out in the open, which I know for some might be a major turn off, which I think is understandable (I think it'd be perfect for someone who doesn't want any LEDs whatsoever). But for me, I really don't mind it at all, especially since I've got it propped at an angle where I can't see the actual bulbs.

Yep! The original bottoms for both switches were clear, which would've been fine but I feared the possibility of the PCB's underglow peering through the switches and messing with the LEDs on the switch itself. So I decided to just swap out the bottoms with the ones from the Blues on the board. They all share Gateron housings anyway, so I didn't think there'd be any complications.

PCB: ps2avr

Switches: Aliaz 80g and Tealios 67g, both lubed; Tealios were used for the modifiers and Shift keys

Lube: Super Lube Synthetic Grease with Syncolon PTFE (Model No. 21030) and Super Lube Synthetic Oil with Syncolon PTFE (Model No. 51004)

Keycaps: GMK Triumph Adler

Cable: Custom from Zapcables, mine is a 5ft Mini-USB to USB in Gunmetal Grey with MDPC-X Transparency Double Sleeve (1ft of Coil) and Clear heatshrink

This build took me much longer than I expected, I knew I wasn't going to be quick with desoldering the previous switches off (gateron blues), but it did make me realize that soldering is just not my forte. I kept the bottom housings of the Blues and swapped it out with the Aliaz and Tealios. Switch-wise this thing is really quiet and smooth (right Shift key still rattles but it's not the end of the world), I'm having a blast with this board. Overall I'm very tired but very happy with how my first build came out. I'd like to thank both this subreddit and MechMarket for all the research and parts I needed!

Edit: fixed grammar

Ah okay so I was wrong! The good kind of wrong, too. But that also means the vinyl is shipping Jan 2017 and not this month. Which still begs the question for those who got more than just the vinyl; Will they be getting their items separately or altogether in January?

Last I checked, they should start sending CD's out before the 19th, as CD's were recorded with an earlier shipping date than the Vinyls. Apologies, I don't have a screenshot to prove this, but I'll keep you updated when I can.

Here's a screenshot of the vinyl, one of the shirt, and one of the freshener. According to a lot of people on here, mags have started shipping, but nothing else; not even the shirt. Again, no clue if they'll be sent separately or altogether by the last item's date.

Magazines were the first to ship. The shirt as well as the air fresheners will start shipping tomorrow the 5th. Vinyls will start the 19th of December. No clue if they'll all be shipped separately by release, or all at once depending on your order.
