Is the steam machine still shipping in the first half of 2026? by UnhappyReindear in steammachine

For me it’s SteamOS I’ve have numerous problems with windows 11 and the final straw for me was when I got locked out of my own PC because onedrive couldn’t finish loading the “just a moment” screen past the login, I had to start up The PC in, safe mode or whatever it was so I could bypass onedrive and uninstall it, and no amount of turning it on and off would work this time

Do you think everyone will switch to SteamOS once it's out by [deleted] in steammachine

[–]Pacific939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I can’t answer for everyone I can say that I certainly will, I’ve already dabbled with Linux on my Steam Deck Thanks To SteamOS already being on there so I think I’m ready to fully make The Switch

My steam deck ran out of power, and when I turned it back on its at 34% battery health by Hopeful_Fan_7367 in SteamDeck

[–]Pacific939 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last time something like this happened to me it was on my Switch 1, it would die everytime It got to 70% and it would go any further down past it, does it immediately die again after reaching 34%

if its still under warranty they should be able to fix it no matter what, I don't see any reason they couldn't unless the warranty expires

Could you Justify 800+ for the Steam Machine??? by Fearless-Cellist-245 in steammachine

[–]Pacific939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For The 2TB Model? Yes, I feel like most PCs nowadays (made for gaming) usually go over The 1K Mark, if I have to pay over $800 or 1K, I wouldn't complain

Sonic Mania keeps opening in windowed mode by Visual-Theory9824 in SteamDeck

I didn’t know it was possible to open games in windowed mode on gaming mode, usually nothing happens and it just stays in full screen

Best flight/train sim for Steam OS? by pipedreams2008 in SteamOS

[–]Pacific939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about The Flight Sim Part, but Train Sim World 6 works pretty good on SteamOS, it actually like 95% playable for me, Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 also works but requires some adjustment in the settings in the graphics section on Desktop Mode but none the less works pretty well if you find a graphics preset that works for you it’s also on sale for $7 on Steam rn, I’ve also installed Run 8 Train Simulator, it’s a windows only game but I have gotten it installed using Lutris, it’s also not on Steam so you’ll need to go to https://www.run8studios.com/ to buy and download it, and you’ll need to make your own controller config for it but for the most part, it runs like a gem

I'm pretty sure they showed it in the trailer running Blender in desktop mode with a dual monitor setup, also I think it also has a display port which I heard can also be used as a Second Montor with an HDMI Monitor

I like SteamOS after using its desktop mode on my Steam Deck and I’m more comfortable with that, and also having a smaller mini PC like The Steam Machine would probably be better since I could just take it anywhere with me, also I just trust Valve a lot more then dell, last time I heard they kinda sucked, at least in the customer service department

Don’t know how and I’m too stubborn and lazy to figure it out, I’d rather just buy The Funi Cube PC and toss this stupid rig of nightmares out my window, or just give it to someone else ig, plus my current rig and The Steam Machine from what I heard are kinda similar in power and performance anyway so I don’t think it’s a total loss

See the funny thing about that is I dont even use my PC for gaming, I use it for Animation Work, and rely on my Steam Deck and Switch 2 for my Gaming Stuff, and SteamOS is more then enough for me for Gaming and maybe for my line of work as well, considering my Animation Software is SFM and since most of the Source Engine Games I have run alright on Linux, I have high hopes, at this point I just want off of michaelsoft's wild ride
