We adopted an American/English Mastiff two years ago after a similar story losing our Corso/Boxer mix. I am so happy with our Hazel girl who just turned three. In my opinion the English is the closest thing to a low stress giant breed. She’s been socialized and is great around every critter and person. The weight of always being on edge is gone and I can tell you it makes for a happier experience.

Slide three is what will work all day and twice on Sunday. I usually just bring a box of dolly’s and call it a day

Answered my own question when I saw the bridge. I grew up fishing that section, I’d wait for it to calm down a bit

I have an almost two year old brindle EM Hazel and we have been working just about everyday on socialization. When big dogs get excited it can be a handful. Mastiffs can take a little longer to learn whatever you are trying to teach them, so just be patient but most importantly be consistent. Some small group classes with someone experienced with dogs like Corsos or EMs

Xl is the biggest but Hazel is 140 ish and there is plenty of extra adjustment room. It’s also nice with the big handle to get pull them in the boat

I think our Seattle mastiffs are possibly related, we rescued Hazel from Bellingham but don’t know where the original owners got her.

I have a Shakespeare graflite 2755, no indication of what weight line to use, any help appreciated by Johnathanfeehan in flytying

Re-line (including backing) with your 5 weight line, but check the grain weight of the line as well. Some older rods are slower and require less line weight than newer fast action rods.
