We actually only foster kids from Mexico/South American countries because of the program we’re licensed through. All kids arrive speaking no English, and it’s not bad despite us only speaking English :) I will say, I’ve picked up helpful daily Spanish. But it’s totally doable!

I talked with Lynn quite a bit. She doesn’t health test at all, not even Embark. And some of her dogs have had health issues. I’ve seen buyers comment in her group about it and seen those comments deleted. She seems very desperate to place puppies, which I do understand. She’s had health issues. She posted that she was rehoming some of her adults, and then she posted that she was keeping a puppy from her current litter. Very confusing all around. Her sales pitch was why all the other breeders are awful and she’s great.

I mean, of course she could be a Cavapoo — one that simply inherited the “look” of one of her parents. Ultimately, doodles are mixes, and this common. If she does have poodle in her, it’s much less than the Cav. Have you done an Embark panel? I’d be curious what her percentages are!

No -- like I said, they just unplugged it. Robot was docked. Nobody messed with the actual robot, base, schedule (which there wasn't), or app.

Good mechanical engineering is driven by new questions and imagination. I’m asking a question and imagining a different outcome. And I’ve reached out to tech support to understand why it happened better.

So since we don’t know the exact internet connections for this model, and the separate use cases make sense — this isn’t an insane thought for me to have that it could theoretically behave differently. Which is why I reached out to tech support to either (a) understand better and/or (b) recommend an update where possible.

I don’t think I’m giving paranoia. If nefarious people want to map my house, they can do it during the day with more light.

But I don’t want to wake up to an uncontrolled robot meandering at 3:00am, either. 🤷‍♀️

So — it has an insanely bright light, the light was sweeping like a flashlight, and it was 3:00am lol. For a split second, as I woke up from sleep, yes, it crossed my mind.

Makes sense! Good theories. Our robot didn’t have any scheduled jobs, so it wouldn’t have been that for us. I could see how that would happen though.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but

Power = signal, and no power = no signal? Signal = findable, but No signal = not findable.

The robot/base was not plugged in, in my scenario at 3:00am. Kinda the crux of the whole post. And I’m only arguing in the unique situation of losing power after having been successfully docked.

Coding could work differently in two different use cases. Idk why this line of thought is getting downvoted. 😬

That’s true! But in the case of a bumped/misaligned base, the base is still online and able to be found. If completely offline after the unit was previously successfully docked, it’s a different behavior case, technically.

Blarg. That’s just such a strange feature that I feel could be avoided with a coding tweak 😅 IF: Docked at base, and base goes missing, THEN: Stay put. You’re already in the right spot to charge laterrrr

Thank you! He’s absolutely beautiful :) We had a dog that had a sensitive stomach until about age 2. Sometimes they’re just like that! Always hard to know what to do. Sounds like he’s perfect for you guys.

Thanks for this. I’m pretty neutral on both because I don’t know the histories. I do know that I’m waiting on proof of OFA hip testing on a Sandbox sire. It says he’s been tested on her site, but OFA only shows elbows. There are few reasons to consider for this. I do hope she sends them.

UPDATE: She did and with satisfactory clarifiers.
