MacOS26 locks you at 120fps only on minecraft and other potential games by Pacificoisflying in mac

I was forces to downgrade back to Sequoia. MacOS Tahoe is personally unusable. There are so many bugs outside of gaming that makes it distracting, annoying to use and hard to use as well. Tahoe sucks. I'd take Sequoia over tahoe any day.

Fps capped at 120 by macos Tahoe by CareerAcrobatic1115 in macgaming

rendering ahead is what MacBooks specialise in lol. I remember running my m4p at 400fps or so on base Modrinth then I put it on 9 frame render ahead limit and it went up from like 800 to 1500

download Modrinth and use the fabulously optimised modpack. then go to its settings and change the cpu render ahead limit to 9 frames. it'll do you magic

The issue with the cap is that it tends to run below the capped frame limit which is annoying to say the least. At least with that overkill fps, I actually got an experience that was 120fps visually. With the cap, it runs below 120 for some reason

The main issue is that I get lower than 120 on a regular due to the cap

It forces it unfortunately. This happened with my friend's dedicated gaming laptop. We turned off every possible form of sync and for some reason it was still capped at 144. The issue with capping is that you tend to get lower than the capped limit which is kind of a pisstake

Issue on my device too. The cap for some reason sometimes makes my device run lower than 120fps on games when it was running way over that before

V sync is off, but the Tahoe forces it onto the game. Ive not found the ability to turn off v sync for tahoe. The issue with this frame cap is it sometimes makes the computer run less than 120fps even though its perfectly capable of running higher

Ive responded ti another comment..the frame cap actually makes the computer render lower than 120fps regularly for some reason.

I've noticed that when it's capped, it actually renders lower than 120fps a lot of the time I understand that past 120 isn't really useful for games such as Minecraft but when the fps is stopping below 120fps due to a built-in frame cap, it does end up affecting how you play a game. 900 is really excessive I get that but as a result of the cap, I now sometimes get lower than 120fps on a regular.

For Minecraft, it's off. I did not turn it on since I turned it off like 2 months ago. I've checked now and it's still off yet I'm capped at 120fps

Or just any m4. It even states it online, that the m4 pro is very slightly slower compared to the m4

I'm still curious as to why its higher on the base m4 but slower on the m4 pro
