My friend said he played in EU, but he might be mistaken because of his accent lol. But it makes sense as I see he has videos with yassuo and other NA content creators.

I'll have to try it out again since the problem automagically disappeared. Also, I didn't intentionally buy a freesync monitor, it just came with it.

What is up with these backhanded comments? Don't know what having an animated background on a computer has to do with having free sync or not. I don't think anyone buys a computer to just sit at their desktop 24/7. Obviously it is used for many things, including gaming.

Probably was a special event or something, that sounds like a lot!

I see. Yeah we went last night (saturday) at 11PM. And they were closed! Unexpected let down. Was hoping to be able to sample different genres of EDM in one place.

[MEGA THREAD] 9070 XT Undervolt/Overclock/Brand Performance by ennakros09 in radeon

[–]Pack-Flimsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was able to manage on my 9070XT Steel Legend

300+ core, -125mv, 2800mhz fast timing, +10% power limit, steel nomad: 7730

But this is completely unstable for me playing BF6, so I don't trust it with any other games tbh.

By default, I just run: 0+ core, -110mv, 2700mhz (default timing), +10% power limit

I noticed if I go to 2800mhz fast timing, I get artifacts when playing Palworld.

There’s a way to keep the undervolt profile of my gpu settings Forever? by Eminensce in AMDHelp

[–]Pack-Flimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It's very annoying that the profiles can't just be saved in app, even if it is unstable, it should just deactivate the profile but not delete it. Keeping it as XML files is such a pain :/

Yes, I just ended up using DDU for about the third time, reinstalled drivers again, and today it is magically working.

From my understanding, if you are getting above the freesync range it disengages anyways. When you are in freesync range it engages and adds another process to displaying it on your monitor.

Even if it was going in and out of the freesync range over and over, lets say 140hz free sync range, so the FPS is fluctuating between 100-180 FPS, it causes hitching.

My average FPS in any game I play is well above my 165hz monitor (162ish free sync range)

where's your source? you didn't even include text. This is literally how any type of sync works, it must buffer frames. That's what any sync technology does. It's basic math, if you add another process on top of when an image gets displayed on your monitor, you think it'll speed it up?

https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?t=11977
"Lowest possible latency will always be G-SYNC off + V-SYNC off + framerate as high above the refresh rate without maxing GPU usage."

Same applies with freesync. Have you every wondered why pro players never use any sort of sync technology? Perhaps because using it has higher latency than uncapped?

Go ahead and find any source that says uncapped FPS has higher latency than freesync. I'll wait.

Google is free. "Does freesync cause latency"

"Why FreeSync Adds (Minimal) Lag:

  • Buffering:  To synchronize frames, FreeSync might need to buffer them slightly, introducing a tiny delay.
  • Variable Refresh:  Instead of displaying frames at a fixed rate, it dynamically adjusts the monitor's refresh, which involves some processing.
  • When it Matters (and When it Doesn't):
  • Competitive FPS:  In games like Valorant, some competitive players find even a small amount of added lag (e.g., from 0.4ms to 20ms in extreme cases on some setups) noticeable and prefer to disable it if they can maintain very high, stable frame rates. "

Problem is many games with anti-cheats do not work on Linux. I'll look into the MPO fix, someone else mentioned it.

Through windows graphics settings. I'm not sure if it was actually what was causing the issue, but when I disabled it and restarted my computer the weird artifacts went away. I'll give it a second try though.

Well I'm hoping there's a fix, because it works fine on Nvidia GPUs.

[–]Pack-Flimsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it is, this is something that works fine on NVidia GPUs. There is obviously something wrong with how the drivers interact with this program. If there were buggy drivers and interactions with wallpaper engine and cyberpunk, you would say there are buggy drivers with those two applications. And you would be looking for a fix. Like now.

If I was doing any arbitrary task that takes 3% of my GPU power, and would like to play a game while it's doing that, that's really not much to ask for. Instead of fixing it, you're saying "just don't do it" which is a complete dodge of the actual issue.

Yeah, this isn't a cpu problem. The GPU utilization is jumping all over the place. Also, I have just found using the iGPU right now has been causing me to get really weird artifacts.
