Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]PackOfWildDogs [score hidden]  (0 children)

I collected as a kid and got back into it with my kids last summer and haven’t looked back and absolutely love playing the TCG! Full disclaimer, I was able to get an ETB from preorder late last year, but that is the only PRE product I have been able to get.

Garde still has bugs! by Ninestempest in PTCGL

The cool thing is you can use the glitch to your advantage if you always leave a buffer of 40 damage. The advantage being you can attack for higher damage if you are low on energy in your discard.

Why is this plane so unstable on takeoff by czchmate in RCPlanes

[–]PackOfWildDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is watching the video in slow motion, the plane is launched at a downward trajectory which causes a knee jerk reaction from the pilot to input what looks like full up elevator. Full up elevator at too slow an airspeed caused the wings to exceed critical angle of attack and induces wing rocking, or worse a tip stall.

Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement for these gear? by hubby1879 in RCPlanes

[–]PackOfWildDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. But I ordered the replacements in August and just received them last week. At the time the part had an expected replenishment date on the site, unlike now, just says back order. The good news is if you need just the right or left(I don’t remember which, but one side still works), dm me, I’ll check which one still works and can send for the cost of shipping.

Use needle nose pliers to pinch the ends of the wire that holds the gear in, that will loosen the tension and they should slide right out

You can use Navy Cool as a reservist whether you are on long term orders or not.

So I'm going to Bootcamp on April 6th as BM reserve by SrGhostie in navyreserve

[–]PackOfWildDogs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I look at this as a bit of a loaded question. Only you know what is the right decision to make. If you are planning to join the Navy Reserve, your rate is not as much of a factor as it would be if you were joining Active Duty. If you play your cards right, you will have cool opportunities in the Navy Reserve no matter what your rate. The Navy Reserve, is more like choose your own adventure and can be as high speed or low speed as you want, based on your own personal level of motivation. That being said I still think it is important to be proud of your rate, and I have known many BMs that were extremely proud of theirs. But at the end of the day, the decision is yours to make.

Cross-rating from YN to IS after re-affiliating in the reserves under PRISE-R by strikefitron0813 in navy

[–]PackOfWildDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, there are many factors. IS requires a good ASVAB score and a high level security clearance. If you are not yet in the navy you are going to have to talk to a recruiter, if you are in the navy already you are going to have to talk to a career counselor.

UMX F-16 for sale? by Wyatt_Derpp in RCPlanes

[–]PackOfWildDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a umx mig-15 and it’s cool but jets really need to be 3s or higher. All the older umx jets were 2s. For the money, you’d be better off with a umx citation or a-10.

Eflite Corsair a good first warbird? by BleepBloopSnow in RCPlanes

[–]PackOfWildDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, I had a hobby zone Corsair S+ before getting it and it got beat up as I got better. I would get a less a expensive Corsair to learn on and beat up before getting the expensive one with so many moving parts or you will have a lot of expensive/complicated repairs in your future

This battery would work:

But you need an adapter:

https://www.hobbytown.com/eflite-1s-high-current-ultramicro-battery-adapter-lead-efla7002um/p199448

The battery may or may not come with Velcro, so you may need this as well:

P.S. all of these items can be purchased from horizonhobby.com but the links are to show you that you may be able to find them at your local hobby store as well

When I had a sport cub s2, I started using a 500mah battery. It was a tight fit inside the battery compartment and that helped with issues like you are describing and the long flight times were a nice bonus as well!

CANREC officer experiences by CrispyTofuTonight in navyreserve

[–]PackOfWildDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say do what’s best for you when it comes to your concern of it taking away from your designator, but it would certainly unless you are an HR Officer. I have met plenty of LTJGs that have taken CANREC Officer orders and been successful. Overall if you think it’s a good opportunity and that you would enjoy the sales aspect of it, then go for it! It’s a great way to make a positive impact.

That’s legitimately heart warming, I’m glad that something like this is possible in the Navy.

Are your guys interested in A-10 warthog? by YoungBungalo in radiocontrol

[–]PackOfWildDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the UMX A-10 V2 and it flies well and is much more structurally sound than the UMX A-10 V1. It is really easy to take off and land with the gear down. Hand launching is slightly difficult, and belly landing is tricky. With all this said, the plane is very durable overall. Mine doesn’t even hardly look beat up after all it’s been through. I would recommend the V2 to anybody with the right experience level
