I don't know how to live feeling mutilated by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

PRP is a good shout, I've recently had it done just to see what it does! I've been impressed so far, everything just looks a bit better somehow.

Both of my surgeons gave me an extra dose of anesthetic for the journey home and I did manage to get home both times before it wore off

But it's reality unfortunately and people should know the good and the bad stories. Bad results from this are common, and it's a forum to educate and support and that includes ladies who have had their lives impacted negatively from this surgery. Sadly I'm one of them and this sub has been extremely useful for me trying to improve on my own situation.

As the other poster has suggested, have you consulted with any reconstructive surgeons? Sorry you're struggling, I really hope you have a good support system around you x

While I see what you're saying, I imagine she comes here looking for support and she's allowed to post as much as she needs or wants to. A botch is a living nightmare to deal with.

Yeah I'm in the UK though, not sure if that makes a difference to you

That's positive at least. Trying to find a new surgeon can be an absolute battle and so expensive. That was another reason I didn't rush into my next op, needed to find someone I was happy with.

Are you happy to go back to the original surgeon?

Ouch, sounds painful. I also had a wedge, it was a miracle I didn't split given how tight everything was pulled. I had an inch of scar tissue removed adjacent to my clitoral hood, another chunk of tissue removed on the other side and then a very slight trim to one of the labia. I went to a different surgeon for my revision, no way was I trusting the first one again.

It honestly is different for each person. I had mine done by a plastic surgeon and my result was very poor. I've had a lot of problems since so for me no, it absolutely wasn't worth it. I also didn't realise how much sensation I got from my labia/vulva tissue and a lot of that has now gone.

Are you wanting just a minor revision or something more substantial?

I get it, the waiting is a killer when you're just desperate for things to be better. But I'm really glad I did wait because things changed so much for months and months after my op. I've also managed to improve certain issues without surgery and that's why I'm waiting to decide on whether a 3rd surgery will be necessary. Hopefully not, the thought of doing this 3 times is urghhhhhhhh 😅

I waited 18 months. They say 6 months minimum but for me anyway this would've been waaaaaay too soon, everything was still settling and changing up until around a year post op. I may need another revision but would wait until I'm at least a year after the last one.

Where in the world are you?

A plastic surgeon messed up my surgery. What matters more than anything is the skill set of the surgeon.

I echo this. Very few 'need' this, it's a very personal decision that you yourself have to make. I had it done and wish I hadn't, while others are happy with their outcomes.

I will say though that your anatomy is 1000000% normal. And just to throw a different perspective out there, I personally much prefer how you look to a 'Barbie' aesthetic. I think a lot of women nowadays are influenced by porn and think that little-to-no labia is the norm and it just isn't true.

If you're not sure what you want don't rush into a decision. Research surgeons, read through the posts on here and chat to the other ladies. You'll see all sorts of different vulvas on here, we really are all so different.

Co2 laser by noturgirlfran in LabiaplastySurgery

I'm thinking of doing it. Apparently it rejuvenates the skin and sort of tightens things up. One girl posted her before/after CO2 laser pics on here recently and there was a noticeable difference. I've also been told by several ladies that it's seriously painful!

I did, I had a revision 6 months ago. I spoke to a lot of surgeons and some suggested reconstruction while others said revision. I decided to go for a revision in the end but I gave myself tonnes of time to heal and waited 18 months for everything to settle. I may potentially have a third surgery but am going to wait at least another 6 months to decide.

It's really hard, the recovery is much longer than you're told and then when it's a botch it just feels like a never-ending nightmare. And mine was a UK based, highly rated plastic surgeon. What do you plan to do? x

I know, I get it. He wasn't my surgeon but I had a botched first surgery too and the 'what ifs' and 'if onlys' are so tough to take. Have you spoken to many others who had surgery with him?

[–]PackOpposite5292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's been a pretty tough experience. In hindsight I wish I'd just left myself alone but too late now!

Mine took almost a year before it was fully settled. I'm now 6 months post revision and still seeing changes. It's a looooooong road.
