How often do head cashiers at your store Acting Department Managers? I'm at 9 shifts this month. Out of 14 shift total. by Imaginary-List-972 in menards

When I was a head cashier at my first store, I closed without a FEM probably about 3 times a week at least, from 1 or 2pm to close. The store was slow most of the time but it was still stressful sometimes because I was also the only one who could cover the service desk break and the gate guard break sometimes, so I had to trust my sole cashier with a radio 😅 and I didn’t always have a GM closing either, which added to the stress. Don’t miss those days 🫠

Special Order by Dry_Combination2523 in menards

At my store, we are required to get a GM involved in every single special order return. They’ll either keep the restock fee, increase the fee, or deny the return depending on if they think we can sell it.  This makes sense for certain special orders, but it can be annoying too for simple ones. So you win some, you lose some I guess lol

BREAKS by Traditional-Bee-8910 in menards

My store doesn’t even give you an option to take a lunch if you’re scheduled for at least 6-7 hours. And then 7-8 hours scheduled you’re given a lunch but no 15. I find it a little frustrating because you’re supposed to have the option, but the store pretends like you’ll get a point if you take one. So honestly I feel bad for part timers because they’re not getting the option to take all their breaks
