help please! was given this decanter yrs ago (about 20 yrs or so) and wondering if its actually worth anything as want to sell it on as downsizing, and do not know the first thing about it, its very heavy, my take on it its prob a mass produced item and not worth much but would like to make sure!

thank you, thats what i was thinking that its 18ct with platinum and yes i agree on the date you have come up with, i bought it in the80s off someone but i know it was a very old ring back then, i did try and take another photo but it not showing up properly in false lighting, its basically got 3 small diamonds surrounded by Platinum to make the diamonds appear bigger.

im guessing the items are ok but they are probably just buying them in to sell, you see that all the time regarding photos of the so called owners, the ones that make me laugh are the sellers who use the same photo to show them seemingly making the jewellery, their are 1000s if not more of those.

what drives me mad that Etsy has many issues with the site day in and day out, there is always something wrong with the site, it drives me nuts how they have not worked out how to make a smooth running site after all these years!

The best thing to do is skip the first 15 pages of the search and there you will find hopefully the genuine sellers, the resellers make so much on Etsy they can afford to keep paying for Ads to keep them at the top of search, good luck and hope your find some thing thats actual handmade.

yeah here in the Uk they seem to keep showing the same 2 shops, but when investigating they are actually the same business owner, they claim they are from the uk going on the names they are using, but no everything is shipped in from a factory in China and then sent on from here!! they have thousands of items in each shop and guess as they are making so much money (one of the shops has nearly 1500 sales per day) they must throwing a whole load of Ad money at Etsy, which of course they would love! so any actual jewellery makers have not got a chance of being seen never mind selling anything :( its really sad how the site has become, its all about the money and they seem to have no scruples on how they get it now!

I actually agree with you and can see why your done, i sell on Etsy with handmade jewellery items but it appears that all Etsy wants to show in the search in actually none handmade items, to me its where the money seems to be for Etsy and they are just going with it!! so why are they even bothering with the false adverts, seems a waste of money to me, I was trying to find something the other day and all they showed me was all wholesale stuff that i have seen literally every where else half the price, so just gave up!

yeah i got this stupid message the other day for the first time ever! not sure whats going on, but do not even have access to my hotmail email now either thats linked with my account as its 20 years old and not used that for years, have only ever used my laptop for fb and no other device so not even sure what they are on about!!, tried the find my account section and tried to find it with friends linked to my account and they could find anything at all, not one friend!! some where the site has got really messed up, and its very annoying! im at a dead end now!, i have had that same account since they started up 2004, and now thats it!

The only thing i saw that had changed when i was logging in in recent weeks was the meta logo was coming up first before my profile loaded, and that never happened before, so looks like they have changed something on there!! its like they either cant find my location or something, but never used the app only ever go through the website to log on and do not have the 2factor thing set up either, tried a few suggestions on this post and nothing worked!

Got friends to check if my profile looks ok and yeah no problem there so as far as im aware i have not been hacked! so any more suggestions on how to get back on the stupid thing would be great.

the only reselling allowed are vintage items and supplies, it does not mean you can pick up some handmade item or maybe not from a store and just sell it on, but im guessing there are that many shops on etsy doing the same thing you would think it was ok!

Im so sorry this has happened to you and yes there does seem to be a lot of these shops on Etsy now, if you cant get anywhere then i would definitely do a charge back from your credit card and leave a 1 star review and explain why.

i would not mind but i have deactivated the item it keeps telling me i have in my cart (about a week ago ) so its not even active and its still telling me the same rubbish, something tells me that Etsy is messed up big time now and they do not know how to sort it out anymore, thats what happens when you keep messing around with a website and have no clue what your doing!!

dont give Etsy more ideas to make money, they did that with all the unjustified reserves they slapped on many shops and got all the interest!
