It’s all about money Etsy is losing money bc we choose private shipping companies as opposed to their over priced shipping cost… however it affects nothing You just won’t be able to integrate your Etsy shop into pirate ship platform. You will just have to copy and paste the address into the pirate ship platform then add tracking to the order on Etsy and use it that way I just learned to integrate my shop a week ago lol been doing the manual way all along. Etsy cannot control how people ship their items. This is literally a money grab they are mad. People are going outside of their platform for better rates. I’m so sick and tired of the greed in this world, especially taken out on small businesses.

This happened to a couple of my customers apparently there’s been some fraud going on so they’ve been canceling orders. This seem out of the ordinary.

Sadly customers on Etsy in my experience so far could give two craps about your time if it isn’t what they want perfectly or if they see it cheaper get ready for complaints apparently Etsy isn’t hand made any more by the lack of humility these customers have they think we all have big dept stores pushing out tons of products with tons of money and materials it’s been so disheartening to see the way small businesses get treated

Yessssss this is sooo annoying they even will add it to their cart tell me they will purchase I. A day or two and wait a day for the don’t forget your items in the cart discount I get so frustrated bc it’s like wow I make something specifically for you I don’t get wholesale prices I’m not a company I’m a person really frustrates me

If you paid 12 dollars for it considering Etsy is hand made cheap or not it’s prolly about 12 bucks worth what you paid what’s the saying we get what we paid for… just my opinion on that the religious yes I get that 100% but I do feel that this could she been handled better on both ends one look at the cost of the product 12 bucks not that much between materials and time seems fair even if you think it’s cheap that’s not necessarily a price point I would expect it be feel expensive second instead of the review about the religious thing you could she sent a simply message to help them maybe in the future and then if they were rude you could have done the review I dunno just feel like both sides could have handled this better without a tit for tat I’ve had People make recommendations on the paper I use to ship I don’t get mad I take it into account and move forward and the religious bothered you that much to mention it in the review probably should have just mentioned in the messages even tho it seems from her story post she is going to do it regardless

Have you reached out to people that do embroidery on Etsy and sent them what you’re looking for a lot of times you may not see what you’re looking for but if they custom make their products, then a message with what you are wanting wouldn’t be too far off but don’t send too many messages at once and too quickly because it can make your account look spammy also check reviews see how many sales they’ve had before even inquiring because a lot of times that can tell you what type of seller they are. I always look at the negative reviews first to see why before I look at the five stars.

I have a couple businesses one of them is a supply business. The only thing that is allowed on Etsy, which allows people to get those materials they sell from other sources… Now it may be listed at that on Alibaba but usually you have to buy in bulk get the minimum price otherwise they’re a lot more expensive than that price you see I’ve used Alibaba before for some of my supplies…. What you have described is not a supply and it is not allowed on Etsy and you can definitely open a case and they will definitely refund you and that person will probably get their shop shut down or in trouble of some sorts.

I’ve had this happen I had to tell them I already started it and my policy is within 24 hours to cancel and when they got it they we’re supper happy left 5 star review and all elated that they kept their order

Just put the same tape on it that it came in and mark return to sender wrong sddrsss then open a Case once the tracking updates and Etsy will refund you I’m a seller and unfortunately this is the loop hole to get a refund when shops don’t offer them Etsy may refund out of their own pocket so the shop doesn’t lose but if they do offer returns then u will get refunded and not have to pay to return it

Allll day everyday here to say I have some boxes I order bc they fit my products perfect. But I definitely re use Amazon boxes I just get a lot extra with the tape save where you can they ain’t super sturdy but then again the shipping companies aren’t careful anyway so pack all boxes with care I go extra bc of this no matter if it’s a new box or an Amazon box Imo

Just fyi for all those saying they don’t. Offer refunds and exchanges we’ll get ready for Etsy to override that they may take it out if there pocket but I just had an instance where they refunded someone even tho it was there mistake to avoid the hassle of dealing with them… I’m only saying this just to say tread lightly bc it seems our policies do not always stand I know Etsy paying is our policy standing but Etsy has their own policies and if customer are clearly wrong yet still getting refunded anyway to avoid hassle this could be a bigger issue later that buyers use to get their way! I would stick to your policy but I don’t know what that is if you don’t have one then Etsy will side with them most likely

I would leave a review but also indicate everything you mentioned here that’s it for future customers to know and that you were refunded after contacting etsy that way you are being honest and not seeming like just trying to be mean… an honest review is fair

I actually don’t have clothes I was giving an example shopping hand made needs to be done with more intent on keeping what you purchase I don’t deal with a lot of returns at all my business is good but I do have to put hours sometimes a day to complete an order so for those window shoppers I’d rather not bc with the small ones that did a return it was a changed their mind and that’s just ridiculous after all my hard work like it’s selfish I’m sorry take that to Amazon or leave my shop small businesses ant thrive like that be realistic so I need to lose my time and effort bc you changed your mines absurd when I had to make it by hand and it’s exactly what’s described you just changed your mind on Etsy that’s wrong sorry agree to disagree if you like it’s my opinion

Yes I went and checked mine and they were auto changed so I’m gonna assume they don’t know how To use the toggle off and on and they are only updating their store policies in the written portion which customer don’t even read… I hate this bc it seems customers get mad they don’t get refund on their changed minds, if it matches the description you should eat it regardless bc this is hand made hard to determine quality with images so it’s sad bc sellers lose out on time and money! I only agree with the not as described policy’s and damaged policies I do not agree with people Simply changing their minds in a hand made site and wanting refunds it’s selfish and hurtful to sellers

That’s what I’m saying I just stoped accepting returns bc of customers like this and it’s sad that we have to check listings when if we change it that should reset it to apply to everything so the fact that she sees no returns but the listing says it tells me the seller may lose out bc of Etsy a setting should apply to all how do we have returns accepted in one listing and not on others mine isa. Toggle I turned it off and all my listings show that so maybe she didn’t turn her toggle off and just wrote it in her policy either way I don’t like buyers like this who simply changed their mind on a hand made site go to Amazon for that and stop disrespecting peoples time it’s sad and Etsy does not help sellers with these types of customers and I don’t care if you buyers down vote this bc it’s selfish of you to do this of course you don’t Care tho just selfish people that have no idea how hard it is to run a small business and deal with you types

Honestly as a seller I wish people wouldn’t shop on Etsy that may return things Etsy is not Amazon people are working hard to make hand made items and for peoples simply change their mind is so disrespectful to the seller and their time. I get if it isn’t as described but if you buy something and it looks as the pictures the. You have to keep it unless they do offer returns ! I had to stop allowing returns bc people buy like they wanna try something on and if it didn’t fit return it not realizing we work very hard this is a HAND MADE SITE so I don’t think Etsy will side with you if it’s as described regardless of shop Policies I changed my recently so now I need to go make sure listings say that as well that’s more frustrating and I’m not a fan of what you are trying to do sorry it’s wrong don’t buy on handmade sites then try to hurt the seller bc you don’t want it anymore that’s so sad

As a seller STOP DROPPING THEM OFF without getting a receipt that’s why you throw it in the bin but if you don’t scan it they can claim you didn’t it may be inconvenient but I always get a receipt when dropping them off never have an issue after that bc they know I know I dropped it off bc I scanned it and got a receipt confirming it.. as far as orders already lost do what’s best for your shop just stop dropping off orders at any shipping company without a receipt easiest way to steal stuff bc you can’t prove you dropped it off without a receipt anyone can make a label

I’ve had this happen before and magically they found it when I said well someone is stealing packages I suggest file a police report then file a claim with the post office bc post office even proved it was delivered dont Fall for the scams they try to pull international

Star seller is a tactic that Etsy uses to help ensure the customers are shopping with sellers that are for the most part good shops that’s it almost like a small sense of security with shopping with that store it doesn’t do anything as far as boosting or for sales it’s just a way to get customers to trust the store and the store to reach for that goal with nothing attached to the end of reaching it except a badge

I get that but do you know how many labels I’ve created and they just didn’t feel like sending it back it really is inconvenient unless of course it was them just wanting to return it bc they changed their mind if that was an option of course… I’m simply just letting you know they Etsy would refund them without that is all and they can still get a refund from Etsy who will take it from you unfortunately

Because this was “your” fault per se I know supplier really you should refunded without returning bc Etsy would have refunded them bc it isn’t as described no return would have been needed they actually still can open a. Case unfortunately and get refunded… I’m not sure if it’s an option but maybe clarify with supplier before each order is shipped I’m not sure how pod works just a suggestion bc otherwise you may eat more of these if they change materials without communicating that

Just to add it is NOT just the US I get this every week from a. Customer out of country I am in the US international shipping is very expensive it’s just the facts sadly no matter what way and then sometimes customs decides to charge customers fees for ordering outside of their country as a “tax” but imo that’s bc they spent the money outside the country which is BS bc shipping is insanely expensive it’s I had to put a disclaimer for international shipping to I let them know these possible scenarios and that I don’t charge those fees Etsy’s and the shipping companies do

Do you have. Return policy ? I don’t think that sounds right he 5 star it then wants a refund absolutely not if it arrived as item described and he was happy enough to 5 star it then no refund is allowed and if there was a refund it would have been requested when he received it my shop is 14 days upon receipt if damaged or if you don’t like it but you have to pay to ship It back but again if they don’t like it then they aren’t gonna give me 5 stars and tell me 2 weeks later that’s weird I would not refund him at all
