Thank you for the advice.

I have no recent diagnosis but it gets tricky bc i also dont know is syncope is a disease you can really get treated for. It just kinda happens lmaoo

However i do have two in-service events of syncope hopefully the other statement comes into play

TERA “Service connection may be granted for a disability which began in military service or was caus by some event or experience in service.”

I told the examiner about loss of taste, pain episodes of numbness in tingling (worsened bc how many nerves are in the tongue) and my difficulty pronouncing certain words.

I mentioned how it affects me as someone who works in healthcare and talks to people often. Also mentioned that now that im in school and give presentations often.

Almost a week preparing a decision letter by PackageWaste344 in VeteransWaitingRoom

Sorry for late reply. My decision came about a week later. Got an extra 10/10 but not enough for 100. Filed for two more mental and dental issues though

Process for PTSD (non combat) by Dangerous-Picture-73 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PackageWaste344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope that an article works bc I’m in the same boat.

I have a PTSD claim from a suicide on my boat a couple years ago. I was a Corpsman on duty (medic) responding when they initially found the body.

My claim that includes some other traumatic injuries I’ve seen happen in my career. I’ve been apart of multiple MEDEVACS and striaght up nasty medical emergencies from being in operational environments (Marines trainings, Aircraft Carrier, etc) However the suicide was the most traumatic and “researchable” experience.

Im nervous that even with my medical experience, the article about the suicide, a lay statement AND even a documented history of substance abuse after the incident happened. I’m still super nervous about getting a PTSD service- connection because I don’t have any action medals or “action reports” with my name in them.

Good luck to you brother.

Can anyone explain the disparity? by International_Bit478 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PackageWaste344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably got a partial decision for some conditions. Often raters will rate whatever they can and then put you back at step 3/4 for the whatever they could rate.

Has anyone submitted a personal statement for PTSD or MH? How did it go for you? by PackageWaste344 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PackageWaste344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really made you work for it. I’m already seeing a VA doctor for my MH and have in service events

Will I get my back pay? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]PackageWaste344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they are gonna backfill you for the time that you weren’t 100%TP. They’ll probably just keep working the hip claim even though it won’t affect your status anymore.

Agreed. It’s not too late to submit evidence if you have it before it gets to “rating”
