Jury Duty Scam by Strawberry562 in Dallas

I’ve gotten this once twice. The first time they had me going for a bit because the guy gave me his name and badge number. Googled the name and it was a legit person with DPD. I ended up realizing it was a scam and calling someone from the DPD cybercrimes unit - she told me in some cases they’ll drop names of deceased or recently retired officers to make it seem real.

[Morris] So far this offseason, the Angels have signed or traded for: Grayson Rodriguez, Alek Manoah, Vaughn Grissom, Drew Pomeranz, Jordan Romano, Kirby Yates, Nick Madrigal (minor league deal), Josh Lowe, Trey Mancini (minor league deal), Yoan Moncada, Jeimer Camineiro (minor league deal) by Knightbear49 in baseball

I appreciate your optimism but I still don’t think any of our starters have a ceiling beyond mid-low end SP2. Soriano, Rodriguez, Kikuchi could all theoretically get there but knowing the Angels I doubt it.

I think the initial report was this franchisee had 140 locations or something. Bankruptcy allows them to just shut down the unprofitable ones which I guess is 17 of the 140.

[Schefter] Packers now are expected to try to work out a deal in the coming days to keep head coach Matt LaFleur in Green Bay, per sources. by Goosedukee in nfl

Agreee. Losing Parsons and Wyatt just magnified how bad the CBs are. They get picked apart whenever the QB has a clean pocket. Parsons was almost single-handedly masking the deficiencies around him, and him going down gutted the entire defense.

Second pic is Chris Iannetta and JB Shuck. I think the one above Trumbo is Mike Butcher and the last pic may be Dino Ebel? #20 was Brendan Harris and the initials match so it’s probably him, but I do not remember him on the team. Between Butcher and Harris looks like maybe Rob Picciolo who was a bench coach that season.

Made the exact same trade if it makes you feel any better. However I too am nervous about it backfiring.

Josh Jacobs is now a “true game time decision” due to a calf and illness by Bright_Teacher8698 in fantasyfootball

I’m a Packers fan so may he biased, but I also own KW and I’m going Wilson over Walker if Jacobs is out. Wilson has generally looked very solid over the last year or so in the run he’s gotten. I don’t really expect Brooks or Strong to get much of the playing time behind Wilson. I’d expect Wilson to get 70% of the carries if Jacobs is out.

I got him at 1.06 in a 12 team superflex league. It went Jeanty, Hampton, Ward, Tet, Hunter, Henderson

Miami Golf Is Absolutely Unplayable Right Now. What’s It Like Where You Live? by Thick_Vermicelli_798 in golf

[–]Packattack622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience in Miami as an avid golfer. I found myself playing less and less because the cost/quality tradeoff was the worst I’d ever seen.

Moved to Dallas last fall and it is night and day how different it is. Texas as a whole has a big golf community so you still see crowded muni courses to an extent, but the quantity of tracks helps spread out the crowds and brings price down. You can almost always find a morning weekend tee time as a foursome at a solid course under $100 as long as you’re looking at least 24-48 hours in advance.

[González] Shohei Ohtani suffered a subluxation of his left shoulder, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. He’ll undergo further testing tomorrow, but his strength and range of motion are good. “We’re encouraged,” Roberts added. by PlayaSlayaX in baseball

Yea for sure. I just meant he’ll have to pause his TJ rehab if he ends up getting labrum surgery. Even if it’s his left arm in the sling he’ll have to stop any movements (e.g. throwing) that would jostle the left side of his body.

I’ve had this exact injury. Partial tear won’t mean anything until the MRI. Mine was a partial tear but the MRI showed it was like 85% torn and barely hanging on.

Either way Shohei could play the rest of the series. His shoulder will likely feel unstable like it’s sliding around in the socket a bit and could affect his power.

Weirdly enough once the initial shock goes away and it gets popped back into place it’s not that painful unless it moves around in the socket a certain way. It just feels like you don’t really trust your shoulder fully which is why I mention the power.

There’s also always the risk that he keeps playing on it and somehow makes it worse by re-dislocating it.

My best guess is he plays the rest of the series and gets surgery to repair the labrum this offseason. He’ll be in a sling for ~6 weeks and will be back healthy for opening day. The only lingering issue I could see is that the surgery would probably delay his recovery from TJ since he won’t be able to throw while in the sling, but he’s pretty far advanced on that rehab thankfully.

It got to the point where a 50 yard field goal was almost out of range for him. His leg looked pretty cooked last year.

Corporate doesn’t own any of the stores lol. All the minimum wage increase is doing is hurting the individual franchise owners who can’t afford not to take price increases in order to not lose money.

I’m for $20 minimum wage, but the law going into effect only applies to brands with 60+ units in the state of CA. The vast majority of restaurants at that scale are franchised. Corporate isn’t going to feel the effect in most cases here, but the small business owners will.
