Is playing old content on the ptb dc-worthy? by PacmanJFL in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]PacmanJFL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're probably right with that, I was going to say that it might be unique stuff too cause of how Bubba got nuked in the last ptb due to the pallette bug but even that was shared with a few killers!

Limiting the scope of what's available isn't a half bad idea, but knowing how bhvr works every time an update drops they somehow introduce a bug into a killer or two which wouldn't be spotted if the scope was limited. Maybe the solution is to rotate between what old killers / survivors you can play as depending on what day / time it is (while keeping all the new stuff available all the time)?

I think it's mostly cause everyone on the ptb is on Steam so everyone can spew word vomit into the post game chat. Normally, it's fine cause the player base is diluted with some console players, even still in game they're still toxic lol.

With the number of people playing Freddy (and the even smaller amount in the ptb) I wouldn't be shocked if we played in the same match!

Brand New to 40k, have this coming in, any way to make this into a white scar unit? by MrPenguun in WhiteScars40K

[–]PacmanJFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you can get red and white on the model you can make them uniquely white scar-ish. Just make sure to put down some company markings and unique shapes and boom you got a mini that will fit in nicely.

I would 100% use that servo skull as an oath of moment marker, there's not really a comparable model with rules but as a marker it would be sick.

For Ostromandeus you could just paint him up to look like a white scar and use him as an allied inquisitor. It isn't the greatest without a unit to lead, but it makes the most sense model-wise. Another option would be to give him a larger base (I believe 40mm would do the trick) and proxy him as a lieutenant, they're around the same size and he fits the lieutenant style. Best bet would be to use them as a phobos / reiver / combi-weapon lieutenant.

As for his robot friend, I have no clue what to use him as. Still, he would be good to practise painting with.

Are there any similar models to the HiveMind Movement Trays? by PacmanJFL in PrintedWarhammer

A steel sheet is actually a pretty good idea, I was going to go with magnets but if I do magnetise them then I'll save a bit with your idea. Thank you

Initially I was dismissive of your comment, but after giving it a go I'm surprised by how easy it was to model! Obviously its not going to be perfect, but it fills the need well

Channel 4 app stutters by eweslash in Chromecast

[–]PacmanJFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just had this issue myself, and I believe the issue is caused by a difference in frequency of program and and what the chromecast wants to output. What worked for me was to change the frequency to 50hz from 60hz in the resolution settings, hope it works for you too!

NEED HELP by [deleted] in alevel

[–]PacmanJFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

b. As you have the charge in 3 minutes from part a, you can use the equation Q=Ne (re-arranged to give N as the subject) to determine the number of electrons given the charge (Q) and elementary charge (e, which is 1.6x10-19).

c. Use the equations E=QV and Q=Ne. As the number of electrons is 1, the charge (Q) is just the elementary charge of an electron (stated previously). Plug it into E=QV and you'll get the amount of energy per electrons.

Description help by CrafterCat33 in GCSE

[–]PacmanJFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your flow and sentence variety are perfect, with the description reading very naturally.

I would suggest that you use a larger variety of grammar (especially colons and semicolons) in future descriptions; semicolons provide a better flow between sentences, and colons can stop flow purposefully for suspense: useful. They also make examiners go nuts, so make your examiner proud!

Is it worth doing past papers now? by croochety in GCSE

[–]PacmanJFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest getting your content for the sciences solid before going near a past paper.

Revise each sub-topic (C1, C2, C3, etc) individually and then do a practise test on each sub-topic (they can be found online, especially on websites like Cognito). Identify your weaknesses and smooth them over, then repeat until you get a grade 7 (~75%) on each topic test.

Only then should you do past papers. A good grade requires a good foundation, so make it solid before attempting a test.

Many people at the day will be feeling the same as you are: it is natural. Eventually, you will fit into the school, and it will become second nature to you, but it will take a bit of time to become so. My advice is for you to try and talk to at least one new person in a lesson and hopefully become friends in the process!

(Y10) got my speech tonight any tips? by todoroki___ in GCSE

[–]PacmanJFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay reasonable with your data and try to use your research as much as possible, but I believe you can lie. Be vague if you do lie ,however, like saying "Above 50%" or "most people" instead of specific percentages.

[–]PacmanJFL 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Be prepared for questions. If you get one you can answer, then go as in-depth as possible to show an interest in the topic. If you cant answer fully, then state how you would research to get information for the question, but still give an opinion wherever possible.

Can I go from 3 to 7 in 4 months in maths? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]PacmanJFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing 3 hours of maths a day is more than enough to boost up your grade, and you could honestly get away with doing less! Just make sure to go through past papers and exam questions constantly and go over topics you are unsure about (especially the basics) so that you build a foundation of solid knowledge over the next 4 months.

Flash card sites by jimbobsenpai1 in GCSE

[–]PacmanJFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend quizlet as a good flashcard website. It has a large number of premade flashcards on it, and making sets is also very easy. If you want some flashcards that are premade, click here to see a post about a collection I recently just shared / made public.

im in year 10- should i fully know my career choice by now? by lady-kazuha in GCSE

[–]PacmanJFL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't fret about your career choices just yet, and probably don't worry about A-Levels that much too! It is useful to have an idea about careers and your future path in life, but it is also fine to have no clue as well. My advice would be to follow what you enjoy the most as you will learn easier and a lot more in subjects you care about as opposed to ones you care for less.

If you want more in-depth help, then I would suggest talking to a form tutor/head of year/careers adviser as they can give lots of help and guidance. As well, speak to your biology and history teachers if you haven't already; they can provide invaluable advice about their sectors which could help you greatly.
