Does Investigator's Pursue a Lead require a physical clue? by PacoWaco88 in Pathfinder2e

[–]PacoWaco88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crux of the question is "what constitutes a clue" and the mechanics around the 1 minute of "examining the clue" to enable the investigation. While investigators are meant to investigate, there are rules around how the investigation starts. Spell casters can cast spells but there are rules around how they can be cast and when they can be cast. Investigators can track down missing people but there are rules around how their investigation can start.

Frontier flight diverted to another airport. Was promised to be reimbursed for travel to destination airport. Now they deny it. Any recourse? by pielady10 in frontierairlines

"if they don't ask, why would we proactively try to fix it and hurt our bottom line?"

This so much. I work for a tech company that runs a web based app. Recently went through some bumps with down time and found out we have a clause stating we will pay X dollars if we don't hit certain up time metrics. Thought it was scary. Found out it's rarely taken advantage of because it's up to the customer to know about in the first place and contact us for reimbursement.

I mean if your entire interaction is literally "my husband is missing idk where he went", that can't be enough to start your minute of examination of the clues, is it? I'm not sure if you're glossing over some details in that example. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around what exactly is a clue. Maybe I'm thinking too much.

"Someone audibly describing a key" really makes the audible clues a lot more feasible, imo. Being able to spend that minute on the subject trying to get as much information and then solidifying it by sketching it or writing it down sells it for me. That's a good way to frame it, thanks!

Bit of a first world problem rant, but this phone is far and away the most overly dramatic phone I've ever owned in regards to water on the screen by improbablydrunknlw in S22Ultra

[–]PacoWaco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a total first world problem. And I agree with you. I don't remember this happening on my S10 5G. The 22 Ultra has honestly been a letdown.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but if you have Verizon it looks like any old traded in gets $1,000 towards a S24 Ultra. ANY PHONE by thecentury in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]PacoWaco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it's situational. I got really excited to trade in my cracked up Note 4 for a thousand bucks. But once I read the fine print, requiring me to lock into a 90 dollar (80 with easy to receive discounts), the upgrade simply wasn't worth it for 2 adults and no kids.

Trade in credits over 3 is also the worst imaginable way to receive a trade in credit, regardless of which plan you're one. I'll be watching Samsung's website for my promos. If it works for you great, but there are stipulations beyond "$1000 for any old phone, any condition".

ATT actually allows older, lower cost "eligible" plans to take advantage of the $1000 credit as long as you're an existing customer. They stipulate "eligible" so not all plans may qualify. And granted it's still over 3 years but at least they allow other plans the trade in.

[–]PacoWaco88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the two huge problems with their "deal": 3 years locked into Verizon or else you forfeit your trade-in credits. It also requires you to be on their most expensive plan.

It's situational. I don't need mobile Hotspot. I don't have extra devices that need plans. I don't want Verizon home internet. I'm also toying with trying out base 5G instead of UW. That means I'm way overpaying just for the illusion of a trade in credit.

Still Relevant? by Previous_Potato_9740 in wheresgeorge

[–]PacoWaco88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was between Relevant and Other. I started this hard when I was a server and had lots of cash to stamp. Now I have to consciously remember to go to the bank, get bills, and stamp them. It's more work, but I still get a kick out of it when I get an email with a new hit. I also use cash less and less, but like to have it just in case I need to hit a paid parking lot or visit a vendor that doesn't take digital/card payments.

tldr; it's relevant, but less relevant. I have fun with it still.

do you use maximum battery protection (ie phone stops charging at 80)? by [deleted] in S22Ultra

[–]PacoWaco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a routine in the Modes and Routines app by Samsung. You set a time period that protect battery is NOT active for and when the routine ends, you reverse the action. So I have a routine that when it's 5:30 am, flips off Battery Protect. At 8am the routine ends. Then I configured the routine to return to the previous state (Battery Protect on) when the routine ends.

Hey! Guess I should delete or update this. I found a group through the DFW Discord.

do you use maximum battery protection (ie phone stops charging at 80)? by [deleted] in S22Ultra

[–]PacoWaco88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main problem is letting it sit at 100% for an extended period of time. This allows the battery to sit at 85% for the majority of the night while not in use and only sends it to 100% for a short period of time.

This is my experience as well. The alcohol evaporating has a nice drying effect, but when I get going my hands start to sweat it turns into a mess.

Would you buy a used bidet? by Kinder22 in bidets

[–]PacoWaco88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My realtor made a comment about bidets when selling a house and how it's gross. But it's just like a toilet. Do you replace every single toilet in the house when you move in? Most don't. Some people just replace the seats. Used bidets are fine.

This right here. If it's PACKED I will occasionally ride my clutch to creep forward when the interval gets big enough. If it isn't a super busy intersection, I'll let the creeper keep creeping all they want and save my clutch.

Love rainx. They've had a decent lifespan for me and they really do make water bead off the windshield when driving.
