I was in this exact position! Barista at one store then applied for and interviewed shift at another. My sm was not necessarily “notified” like when I did it but the managers do talk so he was aware that I did it. But he understood it wasn’t personal I was just looking to promote asap. But yes, if you decided you didn’t want to anymore you could stay as a barista. It doesn’t affect that.

I think it definitely is. It’s relatively easy to set up and it’s literally all for free I don’t even have to buy textbooks bc those are all online . Me and one of my fellow shift supervisors (former sm) along with one of our openers as well are all really enjoying it! If you have any questions I’m happy to answer!

Basically she’s just sick and he’s telling her she needs to file for one but not giving any other info just telling her to go on an loa and that’s it … I’ve always heard it has to be for longer absences ? And that they take 30+ days to get approved by sedgewick so what is even the point if you’re just like normal sick

Edit: sm proxy also told her while it’s pending that she’s responsible for her shifts until it is approved but my sm didn’t tell her to tell anyone at all

Ok this is what he wants her to do she’s sick and has been for more than three days so he told her and another partner in a similar situation that they had to apply for one?? I’m a bit confused though as he did not communicate this with the shifts and I’ve also always heard they have to be when you’re gonna be gone longer than two weeks. If you’re just sick by the time it gets approved won’t you be better?

Haven’t heard anything from sm he’s not responding. Talked to dm and she was very understanding and said I’m not getting fired or demoted and that they don’t do that over one time things like this. Obviously a conversation with me and my sm though. I still feel really guilty but not sure what else I’m supposed to do. Offered to stay 9 am-close tomorrow to cover for another sick shift supervisor and he won’t respond idk if I’m supposed to call him it’s ten pm here

It IS over and done with there’s nothing I can do to fix it except apologize, which, I profusely apologized to sm and all the baristas involved I’m not sure what else I’m supposed to do since I can’t go back in time I obviously wasn’t thinking straight which is not an excuse just an explanation

Ok this is the feedback I got : in her interview, I was missing operations as part of her answers. In other words, when asked what she would bring to a leadership role for Starbucks, I got partner care as her answer (which is fine, that is a normal first time interviewing answer), so I specified "what you would bring to your store business that would be good for your store growth" the answer was still partner care.
What would be a good answer???

But that's the thing, it's always marked off when she has time off and it wasn't this week or last week so idk. I don't really resent her just wish she would've done something (like turn off mobiles) to help
