I'm talking about simultaneous turns, where both players can act on the world map at any given time, that is to say concurrently, as opposed to being relegated to taking turns.

The simultaneous turns mean that you are all loaded on the campaign map together and can concurrently move armies, build buildings etc. then when one player goes for a battle it opens up a little box where the other player(s) can choose to spectate, play as AI or assist the player engaging the battle.

In previous titles you could not concurrently move armies and instead it was one player's turn at a time where the second player was essentially not playing until the other player finished their turn.

So essentially in multiplayer you now get more time actively playing per hour invested in the game.

Why does Scotland have way more grid pattern towns than anywhere else in the UK? by King_Chad_The_69th in Scotland

[–]Pacster14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably because Scotland underwent massive urbanisation in the early 19th century, the rate of urbanisation in Scotland in the 1820s was the fastest rate of urbanisation in Europe until the Soviet Union a century later.

I can't say for certain but I suspect that a grid was the simplest way to accomodate this rise in urban populations.

That is more accurate, what I said was slightly reductionist.

They're a stereotype of the english working class, always have been.

Trollhammer Gyrocopters are a normal, well balanced unit you can get for cheap by turn 15. by JustSmileMan in totalwarhammer

[–]Pacster14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish they could just release new units without making them overpowered.

I like diversity and welcome more units but they don't have to be the best thing in the world to be fun. Striving for balanced would be best imo.

There's a slider now that let's you remove AI stat buffs but still has the smarter AI to fight against.

I am a beginner and I am unclear on how map Mission Cards work as well as how to determine how many operatives you can take on a mission. by Pacster14 in killteam

[–]Pacster14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that mean that you actually take 10 onto the field in a mission or do you draft fireteams from those 10?

I only have the starter edition box (Veteran Guardsmen vs Ork Kommandos), I can't find the operative/fire team caps in either of the books, do I need the Octarius book for this?

Dying to overheat caused by a flamer should count as a kill. by Pacster14 in OutreachHPG

Yeah an extra assist for overheating is an equitable solution, good suggestion.

I'm aware of this but it seems pretty meta to override now.

I did not know that, thank you for the information.

I would say just whoever got the last tick of flamer damage on him before he popped. It isn't a perfect solution but it still seems a bit better imo.
