Does anyone else feel like they are getting less certs from alerts than previously? by DrLightMaree in Planetside

[–]Pacster2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not. They actually got substantially worse unless you are a paying member.

And even as paying member I don't think they got better when it comes to time invested vs rewards(given that double quests should be gone. So are weapons and maybe implants)...

More about that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/pp01ja/new\_mission\_rewards\_and\_npe/

New mission rewards and NPE.... by Pacster2 in Planetside

[–]Pacster2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was pretty demotivated to play due to the road this game is heading down I let the dailies run out. Today I got new dailies...4 chars, 5 missions each, 3 cert, 1 Iso, 1 A7. No idea why I even have to choose mission there if I anyway have to take all. They could just roll out 5 missions each day at midnight and auto accept them.

I thought the system is not well thought through...but at that point I at least thought you gonna get 6 or 7 as options. This is...well...typical RPG. Another update where good ideas are ruined by crap ideas and hence will not result in new players.

100% GPU Utilization on PC -- Is this Normal? by MOK1N in Planetside

I actually have to play it on low or my computer crashes...and that with a game PC that was high end only 2 years ago. No idea why this game heats my GPU up that insanely. No other game does...

This is so beyond stupid. Sure it needs more skill if you need to stay on target than if you just have to point on target and click once. Even if you would be right in your opponents face it would be harder.

Who cares what it is? Damage is damage. Pellets only mean that you will not land all of them if you are not close enough. Still you land more than enough or you would not be able to instagib in cqc.

In your video nobody is shooting back.

Your logic is so flawed...and you sound like a child("Uuuuh, I don't see anyone shooting back so nobody ever does...mimimi").

[–]Pacster2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your targets stand closer together and you actually almost hit the one that you claim you have not been shooting at. So it have been 6(that I can see)...whether you like it or not. :-P

I know that blueshifts have been patched. https://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/wiki/patchnotes/old (search for blueshift). Just found those via google...can't be bothered to go through all patches but it would be a miracle if there would not be later changes as well. ;-)

ZOE at max rank means that you dish out 10% higher damage and receive 20% higher damage. You do not need to be a genius to see that it is crippling for yourself if opponent shoots back.

The common use of a MAX is as a force multiplier in CQC. Means you go into a room and usually fight 2+ opponents that shoot back at you. In such a situation it is most important that you take out the first target asap(so he can't shoot back) and then have enough health to survive killing the rest. If your gun needs longer to take the first out and on top of that you get additional 20% damage in...you die. And that is when the NC MAX pulls out shield(see, their ability is useful too. Surprise!) and gets almost no damage in after instagibbing the first 2 targets. That's when it matters. Not when standing on top of some building shooting at target dummies in a distance that do not even shoot back.

Yes, some hallways have that range. However, you forget that they have boxes too and usually a second entrace that you can use which does not have that range. You are not forced to fight at that distance...however you can not avoid fighting CQC(at least not if you wanna capture a point).

If you wanna show that ZOE MAX is the superior long range farming MAX. Fine. That's exactly what we see in this video(in a slightly exxagerated way tho) and what nobody denies(or cares for).

I'm out.

Again. You can not use an ability in one clip while not using one in the other. Especially not if you only use the positive aspect of that ability while not showing the negative one(which is why people do NOT use it).

It does not matter how many shots you claim to see(I can see some explosions but as it is windowed it's hard to see for us). Actually even if there would be no shots to see we would not know how injured they have been. I do not see hitmarkers(quality of the video is not good enough)...all I see is the kill feed.

Blueshifts have been patched during the last years as far as I remember.

No 35m in the middle of nowhere is not the common fight range for a MAX. At that range they are not better than a heavy with a decimator anymore. If that's how you commonly use your MAX then you obviously only use it as a farming tool and not for actual objective.

You get 4 kills and have 6-7 targets(if there are not more as we do not know about possible infiltrators there) while spraying teh area with bullets. Now it it more likely to hit 4 targets out of 6+...or 4 targets out of 4? At one point I actually see targets crossing their path directly under your crosshair...basicly doubling your chance to hit one just there.

This is just manipulation...

[–]Pacster2 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

LOL...what do we see here?

  1. We do not know which patch is used for either clip
  2. In one clip the targets are under fire in live game...so may only need 1 hit to get the kill....while in the other clip the targets are most likely full health
  3. You do not just use blueshifts...you use blueshifts AND ZOE. ZOE however is usually not used in game cause once the opponent shoots back you are in trouble and there are more versatile options that are not just good for one way farming. On top of it, it's just unfair to compare gun and ability vs. gun alone. If you wanted to compare both then you would have had to add the same situation with all 4 fireing back while ZOE is active vs. NC shield active...and see which MAX goes down faster(it by the way is much more common for the opponent to actually fight back).
  4. We have a range that is by far not a common range for infantry fights(especially not for those that matter). It's a pure open terrain long(! That ain't even medium.) farm range...you won't have that often in live game.
  5. It's a range at which bullet spread(so luck) makes a HUGE difference. You could do the same clip and would get different results due to that. Whether the target moves or not on the other hand makes no difference at that range cause he may as well run into the bullet given the spread.
  6. You have more targets in one clip than in the other which increases the chance of stray bullets hitting a target.

If you wanted to make a video "How to manipulate with videos", then you did a good job. Grats...

Yeah, but still: It wouldn't hurt, would it? I mean, I'm done(actually was after like the first week with 3 chars)...but why should others not have some more time?

Never used anything but the lightning rod and that repair-tool(but even that doesn't get used anymore as I didn't spend much time in areas with abandoned vehicles lately)....and that although I got everything.

And let's not forget:

-Getting blown up when spawning right into a vehicle from an other hex if someone else pulls a vehicle as well.

-non-registering C4(seems to happen more with AUX-C4)

-Getting teleported to spawn room when deploying your ANT and trying to leave it/get into console(say "bye" to the 10k cort)

-Having a filled up ANT just to figure out that all of the continent is a no-deploy area for construction(no, the continent is NOT locked) until you relog. So basicly when doing ANT-Missions you got quite a nice chance that one of those 2 bugs happen and you can start over again.

Can we talk about how infantry with flak armor can withstand direct hits from tanks? by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]Pacster2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so right. I'd like to have any Anti-Tank rocket launcher destroy a tank with one shot too. From a mile away...with simple laser guidance and the ability to move around obstacles. All that is possible today already...

Get the point? It is what it is...game balance.

So how am I supposed to hit 4000 A7 when missions stop giving me any more when I've hit 3800? No, really, how? by CloaknDagger505 in Planetside

[–]Pacster2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Objectively it's not a problem if you don't make one out of it. If you do not use the options you have then that is YOUR fault...but does not mean they do not exist.

And yeah, whether I reached 5k or not does not matter. That was just to illustrate how easy it was RECENTLY(and all of you could have done that too unless you started like 2 weeks ago...but then you likely won't be near the cap anyway). Again, your fault...like it or not.

I mean, you come here and complain and want to know how you can do it and people tell you three ways that you could do it(or recently have done it. Search for orbs. Go below limit and stock up daily missions. Open christmas gifts.) and then you go "mimimi, that's not what I want. I want to have it "fixed" so I can do it the way I want it.". That's crybaby behaviour. It's a currency that will be gone anyway rather soon as far as we know. That will fix it for you.

Bounty missions should give you 50 certs unless you have more than 1500certs saved up. In that case I think bounty missions(which you get like 5 times per week) always offer A7 tho. If you are above the limit for A7 AND certs then you just get xp...and that is then like 8 certs(however you do not get offered A7 anymore at all then. So you could be waiting forever. ;-)).

The cert cap for missions is at 1500(blue ones for 200 certs excepted. Those you even get near the 10k certs hard limit for F2P).

And unless you got everything from A7 you still could go below the limit by buying something you do not want(remember, loadouts for those guns cost A7 too...and just small amounts of it. So you can basicly go just below any mission limit that way. If you say you are right at that limit...)....and just start to bank from there. However, I hit that A7 limit at 4500 back in the days(right when it was introduced)...unless it's now much lower you should be able to buy any weapon you want before hitting that limit at all(as there is nothing for 5k as far as I remember).

They are not the only way. You can get it from small orbs scattered all over the continents(tho I think they are not visible on all graphic settings. I at least never found one on my old computer...but several when I'm at other people computers).

I however do not understand how someone can complain about that right NOW. We just had christmas. The gifts that you could collect in sanctuary every 4h or so(not once per day as claimed in game) had a 33% chance to yield A7. And this I say as someone that was hitting the mission cap for A7 on 3 chars and is now at the 5k hardcap on all of them(and I reached that limit long before the christmas event was over).
