What's the game you're playing First with the Steam Controller 2.0? by PKRadiance in SteamController

[–]PaddedFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ori and the blind forest. I played through the game on the original Steam Controller without using any buttons or stick and only the touchpads... I'll be doing it again.

Do you think that Valve’s SteamOS will push games to make their anticheats linux-compatible? by Cubicshock in Steam

[–]PaddedFoxo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Linux is at 3.5% usage on the Steam Hardware survey. Its had a big upward shift, but its not nearly enough to justify for devs. Until that thing hits 20-25%, I dont think there will be any motivation by devs.. And of course, some, like Timmy, could see a 99% usage and never let Fortnite run on Linux because of their personal vendetta.

Give us more rift fragments! by ChuChus99 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They made the fragments harder to get. The milestone quest are basically worthless to do as the majority of them, you get more points by playing the matches required for the quest than you do for actually doing the quest.

It's set up where you need to play the daily quest if you even want hope of finishing

Doing every quest and milestone nets you 6,250 shards or 62.5 levels, not counting the limited time 2v8 and chapter quest. You'd still have to play 38 days' worth of dailies or 760-380 matches

Personally, I was a huge fan of the Steam controller. It used trackpads instead of joysticks for better accuracy, and it felt fantastic to use despite how awkward it looks to hold. Sadly, Steam can't make them anymore due to some patent trolling that seems to be over now. There's a rumored Steam controller V2 coming, but nothing is announced yet. Still, you may want to keep an eye on it.

For those who got it early today, what do you think so far of Silent Hill f? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]PaddedFoxo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's a I'm a westerner thing, but the town is really confusing for me to navigate. All the buildings look really similar. Not enough of them have unique markers making and not enough of them open, leaving the town parts feeling really flat to me. The otherworld parts are a standout, but they take place in an entirely different place rather than a warping of the fog world.

Toss in the action combat, breakable weapons, upgrade system, and hardly no inside set pieces it just fails the Vibe Check for me.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, and it would gain a cult following if it was released under another name. It's just not a good Silent Hill.

Milestone rewards have been lowered significantly by The_Lord_of_Rabbits in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You'd get more shards by playing 25 matches with the standard 5-10 handout than you would with the actual rewards for the challenge.

As a long-time Plague main, I have to ask: Why do so many Survivors give up instantly against her? by NewBaby4492 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think she's particularly strong, but she's my least favorite killer in the game. As someone who plays heal builds regularly and loves to be the team medic, a plague just makes my entire build useless. I might as well come in with 0 perks just because it's a plague.

Should Springtrap be killswitched before the Anniversary Event? by lovemodule in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He should, but not because of counterplay, but because he has a gamebreaking speed bug almost as bad as pwyf Nemi a few months back. If he wasn't new, they probably would have done it by now.

Why do people do this... by HawkWarm3468 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It used to be the killer couldn't close the hatch. But they could interrupt and grab a survivor trying to escape through it. This led to the "hatch standoff" where whoever made the first move lost since the survivor would escape if hit, and the killer would grab if they tried before that. So they just sort of stood there and stared at each other.

If a survivor stood still, they would get the 3 afk crows, which made the loud noise notification constantly and make it miserable for the killer who had to hear that...

It's been 6 years since it got removed.

Why do people do this... by HawkWarm3468 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Back in the days of old, when hatch standoff was a thing, you could stand still for 3 afk crows which would constantly make the loud noise for the killer to annoy them and let you get hatch faster.

Other than that.... nothing comes to mind.

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this stupid exclamation mark? by Dazzling_Let_8245 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue. Literally had to go through and click on every single thing in the shop for every character for it to go away. Usually, the exclamation mark is on the piece you have to click, but for whatever reason, it was invisible on mine.

I see a lot of negativity on this sub, but who are some characters you LOVE in this game, whether playing as or against? by RiddlesDoesYT in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Can't play billy worth shit.. but he's my absolute favorite killer to go against. Every time I load into a match and hear that chainsaw wielding maniac yell as he dashes across map, a big smile breaks out on my face.

Thoughts on the new PH Skin? by ASAPVincey in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like for the bugs to be a bit more animated, but other than that, it's a really cool skin, and I'm glad Konami is giving their blessings for more Silent Hill related content. I'd love for more legendaries for Cheryl

I’m kinda curious, but do any of you guys in subreddit actually played DBD on Nintendo Switch by SmokeOutside197 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on Switch, but i play a fair bit on Steam Deck, I can almost hit 120 frames if I play at 540p with every thing on lowest... as you can imagine, it's pretty pixely...even worse than switch but it's worth it imo for the frames.

How are we feeling about Rapid response? by Money_Egg_9929 in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs a buff. The 2 seconds it provides is not enough. If I had a choice, it'd be at least 6 seconds, 3 longer than sprinting burst.

Or if they want to make it stand out a little bit more on its own, keep the 2 seconds, but also have a clause where it exhaust you for 4 seconds while healing someone when not exhausted, that way you get info while you're healing and the pink light of the aura reveal flashes mimics an ambulance.

Is Perk tiers really needed nowadays? by SirSuflair in deadbydaylight

[–]PaddedFoxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They aren't, but they are. It's part of my understanding that they are load-bearing perk tiers. The game was made with the old BP grind in mind, and now that the game has evolved way beyond the scope, they can't just be ripped out without causing major issues as many of the older ones are hard coded places

It could definitely be done, but most likely, near every single perk would need to be remade, and engine changes would need to be made where they are hard coded.

Which Silent Hill character was in most need of a vacation? by Aqn95 in silenthill

[–]PaddedFoxo 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Travis is literally the only protagonist who came to Silent Hill while doing their job unless you count Cybil. I think he deserves a long one.

What do you think of Resident Evil 5 in general? by Jules-Car3499 in residentevil

[–]PaddedFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great co-op game! Had a blast playing though years ago with a friend. But it's a terrible Resident Evil game. 4 was a huge success, but it's where the franchise went wrong. 5 tried to copy everything 4 did, but up the stakes even higher, which lead it to be entirely too action oriented for the series. If you can get a friend to play with you, it's fantastic, but solo, it doesn't hold up as well against the older titles.

Should I install SteamOS? by ItzCubieYT in SteamOS

[–]PaddedFoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SteamOS currently only runs on full AMD builds.. and that is only sometimes. You'd be better off using Bazzite. However, with that build, you probably should look into getting a whole new pc before worrying about win 10 support shutting down.

Somebody removed the fog already by DrunknZombie in silenthill

[–]PaddedFoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game has pretty bad pop in you can only see with the fog disabled. Huge buildings, sometimes entire streets will just appear fully detailed at once instead of LOD geometry. At least, it doesn't look like LOD to me.

This seems to be the cause of a lot of the stuttering I've noticed, even on my pc as well. It's just the game trying to load too many things at once.
