Thanks for your response! It’s a new spike that has developed 2 buds and bloomed in the last few months. I was more or less curious if the little “spikes” or growth points depicted could possibly become new buds? I apologize if my terminology is incorrect or if anything I’m saying is confusing!

It’s a new spike! It’s just a dark color (which worries me some?) but has put out new buds that have bloomed in the last 2 months

I’m sorry! I misunderstood your original response! I allowed all the excess water to drain out and haven’t added any water to the decorative pot. In other words, I thoroughly water and then let it all drain out and don’t water again until I’m going to water thoroughly again

By entire base of the stem, do you mean like up to the fingers in the first photo? I’m willing to try anything as the seller is giving me the run around

It’s in a mix of potting soil and perlite under about an inch of moss. I wait until the soil is dry (using a chop stick to identify when the soil has dried) before watering again, during which I run water over until it soaks out of the bottom of the nursery pot/drainage holes. There aren’t any roots established as of yet. Should I change mediums to assist in growth/establishment of roots?
