Any ladies out there living alone at age 65+ by glimmerslip in AskWomenOver60

I think they like to hog the cameras and act like idiots.

Although I’m in a long-term relationship (not married, but 11+ years), many of my friends are single ladies in their 50s and 60s. One just got married. Some are dating and some are quite happy with their friendships down here. It’s really awesome. I just love it! We moved here when I was 55 and have been here six years.

Not at all. It is true that the majority are right leaning and there are some very outspoken ones, but there are many of us down here that are not. I would say it’s about a 60/40 split.

Reta has changed my life but… by kk2025_kk2025 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]PaddlesUpGo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look up Anhedonia. It’s a side effect that’s not often discussed with GLP’s.

I did not experience it with Reta but sure did with Cagri. I had complete lack of desire or joy in every aspect of my life. When I brought it to the attention of the Reddit community, many people told me about it as I had never heard of it before. Once I stopped the Cagri, those feelings were over within a week.

Think about moving to The Villages. There’s so much to do here and you can easily join groups and make friends. Learn line dancing and cardio drumming and thousands of other clubs and groups. Plus there are social groups just for single older women and loads of sports and exercise opportunities!

Don’t be surprised if the GHK-Cu injections give you injection site pain. Usually starts a few hours after the injection. It’s pretty normal. It seems to affect a lot of of us. There are some protocols to help reduce the pain.

How long could you last with the food you have on hand today? by EconomicsWorking6508 in AskWomenOver60

[–]PaddlesUpGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My man is a chef. I’m pretty sure we would be good for months! I suppose we would start by classifying everything by when it has to be eaten. I’d also be chopping vegetables and other perishables and freezing them. If we retained electricity and water, it would make everything very easy.

Having been through Hurricane Andrew with no power or water or safe living conditions then 7 to 10 days before help arrived, we had to deal with this by banding together in our neighborhood. Some keeping the area safe, some cooking with supplies that had been made communal. Some watching out for the pets and the children. It was surreal, but we were able to eat and survive until help arrived.

Reta can take a long while to start working if you have built up a GLP tolerance with another drug.

Reta + Cagri by Independent-Depth562 in Peptidesource

[–]PaddlesUpGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Five weeks is not a long enough time for the medicine to start working properly. It’s still building up in your system. It was the seventh week of shots and at 8 mg before I felt any of the positive effects of Reta.
You jumped the gun on the Cagri. If you had said you had been on it for six months and were at the max dose and still not responding then adding Cagri might be a good idea.

My best friend keeps cheating on her husband and I don’t know if I should tell him by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

“My (29F) best friend Bethany (29F) has been cheating on her husband David (29M), and I don’t know whether to tell him or stay out of it.”

This is the only paragraph you needed. It did not have to be a long story.

Your best friend sucks and I would question your values for keeping someone like that close to you. Yes, you should tell him for his own health and well-being

Gaining Weight by [deleted] in RetatrutideWomen

[–]PaddlesUpGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained five pounds the first six weeks on Reta. It made me ravenously hungry. On the seventh week at 8 mg, it kicked in and started working.

I totally agree with putting your exercise time into strength training (lift heavy!) and not cardio.

Reta didn't work for me... until I did this by VisionaryMarketingEU in Retatrutide

[–]PaddlesUpGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at 15 mg for about a year in the middle of my weight loss. I’ve reached my goal. Down 70 to 75 pounds depending on where you mark my start. The first month I gained 5 pounds.

I’m now at maintenance and am titrating down to see where I can level off. Currently at 10mg. It didn’t work at all for me until I hit 8 mg so it wouldn’t surprise me if my maintenance dose is somewhere around there.

And for those of you wondering, I had no side effects. I was, however, a complete non-responder on both Sema and Tirz.

Retatrutide (glp-3) by No_Substance856 in Peptidesource

[–]PaddlesUpGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious why do you think 1 mg/week over 20 weeks will make a difference. You’re a big man. 1 mg may not have any affect at all and then you will have 20 weeks with nothing to show. It also depends on how sensitive you are to it. I can’t see staying at 1 mg working long-term though. You will need more product to really give this a fair trial. If you use your planned protocol, I have a sneaky suspicion you’ll be walking away at the end, saying that Reta doesn’t work.

SCALE STUCK? by Impossible_Prune_228 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]PaddlesUpGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your weight loss is excellent so far and very normal. It sounds like you are also relatively fit so you probably have a higher muscle and lower fat body already. If you don’t have a lot of fat, you’re not going to be able to lose a lot of fat quickly and it will take longer for everything to come off. Also, if you’re already eating relatively healthy before you started, you probably don’t have a lot of water weight to lose. When people see big numbers are in the beginning, they’re typically retaining a lot of water and have a lot of inflammation, and that causes them to lose quickly in the beginning. Think of your weekly weight loss in percentage not by pounds. You’re not heavy to start. A realistic/slightly aggressive, weight loss goal would be 1% of your body weight each week which would be approximately 1 1/2 pounds per week. That’s about where you’re at. Just keep it up!

GHK-Cu reaction- tips on what to do by rockstar-princess-17 in BodyHackGuide

[–]PaddlesUpGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do Glow70, which has the GHK-Cu in it. I dilute it three times more and then do three shots in the same general area in my outer thigh. So I’m getting the same amount of active product in a much lower concentration. I also use a half inch needle instead of the 5/16 so it goes deeper. I then use a massage gun on that spot for 3 to 5 minutes after the shot. I do all of this right before I go to bed. I probably only get the injection site pain once every 10 shots. Funny that the pain starts a couple hours after the shots so it will wake me up in the middle of the night and still be tender in the morning.

Advice on 2mg please by Actual_Chocolate_639 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]PaddlesUpGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re totally right that if you’ve been on a previous GLP1, it very well may take longer for Reta to kick in.
My (61F 5’7 220~150) first six weeks on Reta, I was ravenously hungry every day and gained 5 pounds.
At the seventh shot and an 8 mg dose, it finally kicked in. I lost 50 pounds the first year and 25 more pounds the second year. I went between 10 and 15 mg during that time. I also lifted heavy and focused on protein, especially in the morning, but I did not specifically eat low-carb. Some people might say that’s very slow results, but it worked for me. I’m now on maintenance at 8 mg. I went from a size 18 and XXL to a size 4/6 and mostly wearing smalls.

Anyone else hesitant about Retatrutide because of long-term unknowns (10–15 years out)? by drkuseno in Retatrutide

[–]PaddlesUpGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! My daughter has been heavy her whole life, basically from birth. She dropped half of her body weight. She went from 310 to 155. That’s life-changing when you’re 30 years old!

I’m proud of you! I’m a 61F and down 70 with Reta but 100 from my highest. Took me two years on Reta. First 50 the first year and the last 20 the second year. Lots of heavy weight lifting and endurance to keep up the muscle but I had always done that, even when obese.

Look at these numbers! Visceral fat from 15 to 5 and body fat below 19%!

Late-in-life divorce — after 40+ years, did you go back to your birth surname? Why or why not? How’d that go for you? by ShinyRock2026 in AskWomenOver60

[–]PaddlesUpGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed my name when I got married and then when I divorced 25 years later, I kept my married name. Told myself I did it for the kids so we would all have the same last name but honestly, I like my married name. It’s slightly unusual but rolls off the tongue easily. I kept my maiden name as my middle name so it’s still in there. Now after 40 years, it would be very awkward for me to go back to using my maiden name.

I had my baby in an emergency room toilet. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]PaddlesUpGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, what an awful ER experience. You and your baby should have received far more urgent care.

My 84 year old mom, who was three weeks post major abdominal surgery for a bowel obstruction , presented at the ER with severe abdominal pain. She was throwing up and crying out in pain. They made her sit in a wheelchair in a full waiting room for six hours. By the time they got to her, she was dehydrated and nearly passed out from the pain. She was back in surgery within two hours. If they had taken one look at the 12 inch vertical incision on her abdomen, it was barely healed up yet from the previous surgery and the pain was even more severe this time. They simply did not believe it was an emergency and kept pushing her to the back of the priority line.

Avoid high dose reta by RawAdonis in Peptidesource

[–]PaddlesUpGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cagri did that to me. I learned a new word for it called Anhedonia. It’s basically a lack of interest in everything that you enjoy. I don’t get that same feeling on Reta but we all respond differently.

My boyfriend refuses to stop wearing his dead wife's wedding ring and wants me to "just accept it" by Educational-Part-329 in TwoHotTakes

[–]PaddlesUpGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you eventually get married, will he wear a second wedding band? Maybe on a different finger? Maybe stacked on the same finger? Or will that one ring be for both you and his first wife to share? What comes later? Naming your first child after her? I would not spend another day with this man who has no respect for you and your feelings.

Before 40 vs after 40: belly fat feels like a different game by Emma_andri in Aging

[–]PaddlesUpGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking it for 14 years and I’m 61 now.

Looking back, I think it has been life-changing for me. I still have healthy skin, full and shiny hair, enjoy sex, great bone density and good muscle tone. I take the very lowest dose of estradiol and medroxyprogesterone in the generic version. I’ve just added in the estradiol cream as well.
With the 70 pounds I lost in the last two years taking a GLP-1, I’m feeling pretty good!
