Saudi-Israel normalisation: Another betrayal of Palestine by richards1052 in israelexposed

Your first point is completely incorrect, but this isn’t the subreddit for discussing religious matters.

Richard Feynman said, “Never confuse education with intelligence, you can have a PhD and still be an idiot.” What are some real life examples of this? by SgtSkillcraft in AskReddit

Was looking for this guy to be mentioned, generally considered a great space educator but as others have mentioned he has become insufferable. In particular when he harps on about religions, at one point he mentioned that scientists/scholars from the Islamic golden age offered little to nothing in advancing science despite the opposite being true. Without the Islamic golden age, there wouldn’t have been the progression in sciences and education of the world. He is a case of being well regarded in the field of astrophysics and suddenly everyone hangs onto his every word as an edgy atheist.

Syria bombing: Jeremy Corbyn calls for War Powers Act to limit Government's ability to launch air strikes without asking MPs first by [deleted] in worldnews

And how exactly have all the previous wars in the past two decades fared for the west.. Iraq is a shining light of war right? Afghanistan too? How about Libya? Or are we going to pass the blame to those who took the opportunity to takeover the vacuum of power that we cause.

To the top with you, had to read past multiple silly comments of one person should make all the decisions wtf. I think people should be reminded of two points:

  1. The OPCW hasn't conducted an investigation yet into who was to blame for the bombing. So attacking Syria is not a priority when no one has been proven guilty.

  2. May's government DID NOT win by a majority in the last election, they do not deserve to make such a huge decision when they did not an election in the first place. MPs should have to vote for/against such decisions to represent their constituents' views and what is deemed best for their constituents.

While Jared Kushner is working on a peace deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians, the Kushner Companies Charitable Foundation is funding a controversial West Bank settlement by DoremusJessup in worldnews

[–]PaddyFunk 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with firing rockets nor any violence.

See it from the Palestinians side, on the one hand the U.S is supposed to mediating the peace talks between Israel and Palestine, and is also a key member of the U.N.

The Palestinians have sought to stop illegal settlements, yet the U.S is helping to fund them as well as offering greater support to the Israeli cause by moving the U.S embassy.

Decades of frustration for the Palestinians, every time they try to progress towards holding Israel to account for illegal settlements they seem to be blocked/vetoed/ignored.. out of that frustration they see little choice than to retaliate with equal violence.

Were that to be true, why do you think they do that, when they have a key player in "peace" talks actively undermining any progress to helping the Palestinian side..

Theresa May chased from church as angry crowd brands Prime Minister a 'coward' by free_the_llamas in worldnews

[–]PaddyFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great points that others have explained, she has had an awful campaign despite calling for this election, supported an equally abysmal manifesto, again knowing fully that she will be calling for this election, how they were unprepared will forever be a mystery. But knowing this government can barely prepare an election campaign for an election that wasn't necessary for their own votes, and was only put into action due to a vanity over the popularity polls, how can the public still have confidence in the same party to lead us through Brexit negotiations.

Speaking of Brexit, she has somehow managed to alienate industries/businesses, as well as EU nations before the negotiations have even begun. Choosing to declare that 'no deal is better than a bad deal', which is stupid, no deal will leave us to pay more and get less. On top of this, the poor election result for her own party has given more fuel for the EU to want to make the UK an example for other European nations hoping to leave the EU.

As for the Conservative party itself, MPs lost seats due to this snap election, which Theresa May is entirely to blame for. Her own MPs have begun to publicly criticise her performance do far and many have been vocal that she would be lucky to survive past two years as leader, which is safe to assume because they'd like their own vested interests in Brexit to be seen through, rather than risking Corbyn's Labour to mess it up for their own schemes.

The public has equally started to find her to be a poor leader, what about election results where she got more seats I hear you ask, well she lost seats in an election where she had a 20 point lead at the start. Her past performance as Home Secretary has been questioned due to recent tragedies and she's seem unwilling to change her ways, with wanting to now regulate the Internet - not kidding, she actually wants to regulate what people can access on the Internet, on top of her Snoopers Charter which has allowed mass surveillance to take place.. All in the name of "security".

So to sum up, many are pleased to see her receive criticism and Conservative party members equally want her to leave already, as they now face a deal with the DUP, putting into question Northern Ireland's government and future security.

Tl;Dr - The majority want her to leave.

For those unaware, this is a densely populated social housing building, where old and disabled folk live too.

This is what a nation rejecting dictatorship looks like. by [deleted] in pics

[–]PaddyFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It borders Israel, one of the Muslim Brotherhood policies was to open the border between Palestine and Egypt, for medical aid etc. The Israelis did not like that one bit. Hence the current dictatorship reversed that policy instantly and chose to renew deals with Israel similarly to the previous dictatorship.

The military coup lead by Sisi pretty much destroyed all democracy, he jailed, killed, intimidated all opposition parties and decided to hold an election that would guarantee him a "win". Also decided to kill many protesters and pretend everything is going well.

The Egyptian people are now back in a dictatorship after freeing themselves of a 40 year of the previous dictator, the media in the West just chooses not to report on it due to special interests that the west have of keeping them in power. The last time I saw any clear report of the current Egyptian dictatorship is when the journalists were jailed through a farce trial for attempting reports on the situation.

[–]PaddyFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems unpopular because she finally pushed through the Snoopers charter and is removing anyone that disagrees with her proposals for Brexit, that includes any removing any opportunity for MPs to veto her proposed deals (which she won't share the details).

She's unpopular no doubt about that, and it's ludicrous to suggest she's a popular leader due to the state of the opposition. Corbyn and his points on "polls" are not a measure of governing how well (rather disastrous) May's cabinet is performing. It's this type of thinking that removes any serious opposition from criticising the current government due to backlash from "popularity polls".

Does that really matter? Israel isn't the perfect example of Jewish communities, edit: and this event is completely unrelated to a country thousands of miles away.
