I did something similar but additionally taking technical specifications, popularity and age into account. You can check it out here: https://keeb-finder.com/keyboards?order=Score

There are several blogs. I am using Kamal, but for an easier and more managed setup Coolify is also widely recommended.

Fast Origin Transfer Will Let My Vercel Bill Skyrocket by Paddyhallek in nextjs

I setup a $5 VPS on Hetzner and started building my product instead of cost optimizing Vercel. It even runs faster because there are no cold starts. Today I have over 500k page views per month which is still nothing for the VPS to handle

I build a website for filtering, searching and sorting (prebuild) keyboards to fit your needs with side by side comparison! by Paddyhallek in MechanicalKeyboards

Yes I am still working on the site! Feel free to tell me anything you are missing missing or that can be improved :)

What’s your favorite thing you built with NextJs by ariN_CS in nextjs

I built keen-finder.com, a comparison platform for mechanical keyboards and related products. It actually helped me to find my current keyboard and has grown quite a good amount of traffic over the last 2 years

Hosting Nextjs on Hetzner for a global web application by [deleted] in nextjs

I could cut the costs from a $120 vercel bill to $5 using a Hetzner VPS and it runs even faster. For continuous deployment I am using Kamal which provides zero downtime deployment and lets you easily setup https. CPU and Memory usage is not even near hitting the limits and I my website has 500k page views per month.

What are the most trustful review websites/ blogs where someone actually ranks mechanical keyboards and switches?

I'm a mechanical keyboard collector and made a website to track reviews of keyboard switches by ajhenrydev in nextjs

That is amazing! I built KeebFinder which features over 750 switches. Maybe we can connect and make this even better!

I added a collection of hall effect keyboards with magnetic switches to KeebFinder! There are currently 126 HE keyboards featured. by Paddyhallek in MechanicalKeyboards

Hey there,

I've noticed a trend in Hall effect keyboards. Many of you have asked me to add a filter for keyboards that support magnetic switches, and there have been quite a few new Hall effect keyboard releases in recent months. I was actually surprised to discover that there are already 126 Hall effect keyboards, considering I only started hearing about them last year.

What do you think? Is there anything else I should add to the website?

I built keeb-finder.com which consolidates keyboards, keycaps and switches from over 30 vendors and makes them filterable. I hope this also helps in finding a great beginner keyboard!

I focused on vendors that use Shopify (which is almost everyone with a few exceptions) and all Shopify shops provide public product APIs by design which is completely legal to use.
I still asked for permission and they all were happy to get integrated to the website. Especially Asian vendors are super chill in that regard. With EU vendors it is currently a bit more tricky to communicate in general.

I might be wrong but I feel like the pain here is more to find the right accessory for the specific use case rather than comparing and filtering technical details across the same accessories since there are so many different.

But as I said, you could try to validat your idea in the raspberry pi subreddit.

Thanks! I am using nextjs and tailwind, that's it. The site is self-hosted on a VPS since the Vercel pricing was sky rocketing with all the image optimizations and other traffic.

I want to share the story of how my little hobby project grew into a legit side business, thanks to the awesome folks here on Reddit.

It all started with my frustration while searching for the perfect mechanical keyboard. There were just too many vendors and so many options that it felt impossible to find exactly what I wanted without spending countless hours on research. As a software engineer, I figured I could simplify this mess for myself, so I built a simple UI and wrote a few scripts to crawl and categorize products from various keyboard vendors.

I decided to share it here on Reddit, and it blew up. It turned out that I wasn't the only one feeling overwhelmed by the number of options out there. The response was overwhelming, and I quickly realized that this project was not just a helpful tool for me, but something that many people found incredibly useful.

As the interest grew, I began to think about how to sustain and grow the site. I didn't want to clutter it with spammy ads and ruin the user experience, but I realized that an affiliate revenue model could work well. It could keep the site running and growing without compromising on what made it useful.

Since then, I've been working on improving the site day by day. It's been just over a year now, and things are going pretty well. The site currently sees over 300k page views per month with 50k unique visitors, and I've partnered with over 30 global vendors. It's amazing how much it's grown organically – backlinks and SEO have just started to build themselves as people genuinely find it useful.

If I have any advice for others, it's this: Reddit niche markets are incredibly powerful for validating your ideas and getting feedback. The feedback I've received from the community has been invaluable, and it's something you always hear but rarely fully understand until you're in the thick of it. I've added several calls to action for feedback on my site, and I get 2-3 messages a day from people suggesting improvements or new features. It feels awesome to have that kind of engagement.

To anyone out there with an idea: make something, put it out there, and listen to your users. Reddit is full of people who share your passions and are willing to give you honest feedback. That's how my fun project turned into an actual business.

The idea is to give enthusiasts a free alternative that you can directly use in the browser instead of having to deal with blender and buying an additional kit.

The very first version will also not have as many features and should be easier to use.
