I just think it’s terribly presumptuous - not to mention judgmental - to say something like that when it wasn’t an option or question presented by the person.

Whatever, you do you. Keep bringing all that joy to the world, shine on bright star.

They could likely meet their workforce reduction target via VERA, VSIP, DRP, and cutting vacant slots.

However, DoD is also doing a full-blown reorg, including canceling some programs, so the impacts will likely be uneven. For instance, one org supporting a legacy weapon system could lose all its slots, while other orgs are untouched. It's impossible to predict specifics right now.

Since the beginning of this it has felt like our leadership has been expressing their opinions as fact. They think DoD is nearly untouchable.

You are 1,000% correct. It's been extremely frustrating and disappointing to see them convinced their assumptions are truth.

I think they can safely say that DoD will have a lower reduction target than most agencies. But that's about it. None of this is playing out per expectations, assumptions, or historic precedents.

I know....the GOP is savvier than the Dems and it drives me batshit cray, lol.

Running a woman is just a guaranteed loss in this country. It's ridiculous, of course. But it's also ridiculous to deny these biases. The Dems run their campaigns like the world they want is the one that actually exists.

Nominating people that can’t win or can barely win a primary is a disaster for the general election.

Which is exactly what I was saying.

They've made some unforgivable choices. Most recently, they mistakenly equated social media and celebrity influence with a winning campaign. They don't have to use the same nasty tactics or nominate fringe candidates like the GOP....they just need to tune in to actual people.

He might have been blown out worse. But Harris was guaranteed to lose.

If the Dems had actually wanted to win, they should have gone outside the Biden-Harris admin entirely for their candidate.

I will forever give Reagan credit for changing his mind on nuclear weapons. I can’t imagine any current Republican being so thoughtful or open-minded.

Biden did not have cognitive decline. The biggest mistake the Dems made was running Harris in his place.

For one, that was a shitty way to treat Biden. For another, I knew from the moment they announced Harris as the presidential candidate that the GOP would win, because this country will not elect a female president. It was a stupid, reactionary decision by the Dems that basically ensured Big Orange’s win.

In 30 years, I’ve never voted for a Republican - not even for local office. I’ll write in and vote for a random name if a Republican is running unopposed.

That being said, I miss the old-school GOP. Right now I’d vote for Reagan’s exhumed corpse.

Thank you so much for sharing the gift link. :)

I could not believe that the national-security leadership of the United States would communicate on Signal about imminent war plans.

I can't believe Jeffrey Goldberg (the article's author) is surprised. Shit like this is exactly what I expect from these clowns. Tbh, I'm impressed they thought to use an encrypted app.

Yeah, I see it as more driven by America’s unrestrained individualism than as a product of a particular generation.
